Boruc is a decent keeper tbh but carries way too much baggage.

What do you mean?

whilst with Celtic he was never far from front pages mate, could be down to Old Firm mentality and spot light players are under.
but when he made front pages rather than back he was always liable to make a cock up in next few games,

but as I said on his day is a decent keeper

I actually think I re-call he was a coke head or something? Was that true?
What kinda things was he in for?

Shay Given is hardly getting on when it comes to goalkeepers - he's "only" 35 which means we would get more than 2 or 3 years out of him
Except he's never fit.

And is fairly average even when he is fit.

ahh - scratch that then. I thought his contract was up and they didn't renew it.

It will probably be Foster and we'll probably get assraped for the fee, but he's pretty solid keeper.

Is Guzan still on our books? - never really seen him play. I know he had that good game against Sunderland in the league cup, but other than that....

I quite like Kirkland as a keeper - if we're on a budget, it would be a reasonable shout  I think.
Kirklands awful. Been replaced at Wigan which should say alot
Guzan played well in a few of the cup games but I don't really rate him, fumbles the ball way too much

Kirkland is an excellent keeper but suffers from a bad back, not an injury as such but i have read that it even freezes up after bus journeys to away games. Not ideal.
I'd steer clear of Given for similar reason's, he's had a number of injuries to his shoulder.

Assuming we're not absolutely skint I would go for Foster. The right age and experience and would integrate quickly into the team. It would also be an opportunity to get rid of these messy tapping up claims.

Heard all that as well mate but tbh all sorts of rumours fly around up here regarding high profile players,

He had split with his missus and moved a new bird in within days and IIRC a few games after that he was beaten by a squiggler at Easter Road, he made a few high profile blunders as well,

have you watched the links mate ?
I have said on his day Boruc is a decent keeper imo not good enough for Villa

the first link he spills ball out at Kenny Miller's feet second link possibly not best angle but watch how he goes down to try prevent it ?

IMO goes down in installments and looks awkward way he does it not exactly type of keeper i'd be confident with if he was at Villa

again though just my opinion

I'm rangers villa aswell mate and i remember the kenny miller one well! I still seen him make some top class saves but I suppose you seen him play a lot more so your opinion will be more valid!

It's all about opinions mate when he first made an impact i was fearing the worst as he looked a top notch keeper but imo he got complacent as he never really had any competition for his spot whilst there and thats when all th off-field distractions effected him and errors creeped in.

On his day he is a quality keeper of that there is no doubt but questions have to be asked what Boruc will show up more often than not.

I just feel Villa deserve a better keeper than him.

So realistically what's your ideal keeper
And do you think McGregor is good enough for the prem?

If it were my choice purely from  Villa point of view I'd like to see a McGregor, Frey or Foster arrive in summer

from being a season ticket holder at Ibrox and life long fan I'd hate to see McGregor go and don't think he will but he is easily IMHO up there with anything Premiership has to offer at present time.

and I'd go as far as saying if he was English would be Fabio's firs pick.

Hald of my family are all scottish rangers and rave about McGregor. I think realistically the best option is Foster. I don't think McGregor will leave and I certainly don't think he'll be cheaper than Foster. Would it be a fair assesment that he was one of the key players in Rangers title bid?
I don't buy into the were skint nonsense, I think there's money avaliable
