It's going to be one of the "big boys", just to add pressure to AM. I can see us being given the fixture list from hell to start the season.

Ideally, Blackburn at home. A real ground filler of a fixture.

Someone away so AM can get a win under his belt before his Villa Park debut.

Man utd, Chelsea or man citeh away, we'll play them off the park with McLeish's  attacking football and win 3-0.

 I can dream can't I.

Hopefully Manure away. Jerome hat-trick in front of the Stretford End!

The future's not bright, it's ginger and sweaty.

I'd like an easy one.

We will, however, get a difficult game. Hopefully Chelsea away as I have that in the sweepstake.

I dont want a promoted side. They nearly always come out of the blocks like a dog with ten dicks and love it, plus we'd be expected to clatter them and I'd rather ease into the season.

Somebody like Wigan away would do nicely. Give them a good bollocking and then the pressure will be off fucking eck a little bit to make his home debut.

My gut feeling is that it will be Bolton at home.

If it were (for example) Wigan at home, how many would bother to turn up?

Being optimistic, It'd be nice to play, and beat, a big name so that we'd come away thinking things ain't so gloomy after all. Like the 3-1 v Man U in Brian Littles first full season.

A tough away fixture.

If we beat Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal away on the first day, then have our first home game v Wigan and stuff them, these dark days will be long forgotten. 8)

It will be Swansea away , lunchtime kick off.
We will lose.
Our inept manager will not pick darren bent.
Bit like Pompey away a few years ago when the inept manager(o Leary) didn't play mellberg
I can foresee alot of comparisons with o Leary over the next season or so.
How has it come to this ??

Looking a bit further ahead, I reckon we'll get Blues away in the Carling Cup!

Blackburn or Wolves at home or Fulham away I would take any of these teams we need to start with a win and these are winnable games.

Guaranteed to draw them in one of the cups
