It's a good demonstration of how you can't really go by these intenet polls as a fair reflection of opinion.

I'd bet if I interviewed 100 Villa supporters on the street, about 99 would say no.

I'm just surprised there are 17 knuckledraggers that can read.

Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't mean they support Blues. I voted 'yes'. Not because I particularly want him but on the basis he might be appointed and the press would use the poll result as the basis of a "Villa in Crisis" story.

Villa in crisis? I think the press have such a low opinion of us, they'll see it as what it is, a midtable club with no ambition.

I agree with that. I think we can do better. Unfortunately all the names mentioned recently suggest we can't. He has achieved more than Grayson, Martinez, Coyle and McLaren.

The thing that keeps us supporting our clubs, apart from loyalty, is hope. Even Coyle or Martinez, two young, up and coming managers would generate some hope. McLeish, we know all about, decent man that he is, brings nothing to the table except a clear sign the board have given up.

I have a lot of time for McLeish and think he deserves better than the crap he's had to put up with at the circus down the road. As I said, he's a very decent man and despite his ties with the Rags, deserves a bit of respect. But is he the best man for the job? Of course not. If he's the best the board can come up with, they really haven't got a clue and I say that as somebody that has always fully supported them.

Once again, I really can't see them being so stupid.

I wanted Ancelotti or Van Gaal and I'm still hoping against hope for Moyes or Rijkaard... unlikely as it may seem!

I have passionately critisised his negative football in previous posts and have stated my reasons for not wanting his appointment but if he came I would support him as I support AVFC not the incumbent individuals in any given post.
