Very good keeper for us so I'm sorry to see him go.  But his powers started to wane markedly last season so we were always going to need a new keeper.

Even though he's past his best Spurs have signed him because their own keeper is even worse.

I can't wait to see the look on gallas, corluka, ekotto and dawsons face the first time a corner comes in, big brad shouts "AWAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!" whilst firmly rooted to his goal line.

We got three good years out him, which as much as you can hope for when you sign a player at 37. Didn't do much wrong at all for us.

Odd move from Spurs, though. I'm not sure Brad will be No.1 ahead of Gomes, and if they wanted an experienced 'keeper as cover, they have Cudicini already. Unless he's going.

I think Redknapp is quite keen on shipping Gomes out as soon as he can.

He's done quite well for us but in my view he didn't command the area well enough and seemed too reluctant to come out for balls early. He's a good shot stopper (as long as they aren't low and to his left) but in recent times I've got the impression that the defenders aren't quite sure what he's going to do.
Robinson would be my choice to replace him.

Has been a good, solid player for us and a great player in his prime.  His experience can be replaced (Robinson please) but his legs can't so to speak so it's no massive loss.

Good luck Brad, but I hope you now turn into an awful keeper and cost Spurs at least 10 points net season.

We've needed a more commanding keeper for years now. Friedel was good but his faults were frustrating.
Time to reorganise our goalkeeping dept for the better. Robinson and a capable understudy like Westwood would do nicely.
Even Green, the odd over publicised howler aside, has arguably a better all round game now.

You might be right there. But still, Friedel as No.1? Hmmm. Spurs have gone a bit strange with 'keepers: Cudicini's never had much of a run (although he had that motorbike crash and injury) and didn't they sign the Croatian guy, Pletikosa, who always looked good, and never picked him?

Sorry to see him go, I guess we didn't want to offer a 2 year deal and Spurs did.
I'll be even more sorry when we sign Robert Fucking Green.
Imagine it:  Schteve and Green Holding up the Villa shirt for the press!!! Shudder!!
