Fickle sugerbags that we are, if we get a few decent results back to back at the start of the campaign I can see a few of those wavering at the moment getting back on board.

But I don't think it a hugely unlikely scenario that a fair few home games next year will be played out against a backdrop of empty seats (my lord) and general indifference. Some of the fans will blame the manager and the board, other fans will blame the fans not attending and the players will use any convenient excuse to explain away dismal 0-0 draws at home to the likes of Swansea.

Supporting Villa is all about the ups and the downs. That is why I love our club. The downs make the ups more enjoyable. Hence why it would be dull to support United.

The fun bit is to get behind the club no matter how low things are and be optimistic for the future which I am. McLeish must really have a passion and desire to manage us and succeed, as I believe 99% of managers would not even consider managing their closest rival.

Due to this I am optimistic and I will give him a chance.
