Is the money going on McLeish all being put on in bookies in Small Heath?
With regard to Simon Grayson, it's already been said that he has done an excellent job at Leeds with players bought on a shoestring and his top players being sold to keep the club in a decent financial position. In other words the sort of man we appear to be looking for.
Add to that, watching them on TV a few times last season they played a good passing game but could still mix it when the need arose.

a maniac of an owner that buys players/sacks employees based on his mood

I think that's the difference.  Chelsea have a maniac of an owner with (alleged) links to the Russian mafia.  Villa's owner writes letters to chairmen to ask permission to speak to their managers.

So if we had really wanted Martinez we should have arranged for a horses head in Dave Whelan's bed?

One of my friends manages a branch of Ladbrokes in Southport. Someone walked in to put £200 on Mcleish but Ladbrokes would only let him bet £20.

To sum up the generals post. As I read it anyway...

- Ignore media, they know fuck all.
- Seeking best man for the job, not neccessarily a "name" simply to please people (not that the name will not also please people but its not a priority).
- Randy will back said man as always.

I think thats all fair enough.

The most interesting point has been missed. When did M&S start doing Balti Pies?

there's an opportunity in there for someone! I do miss pies from back home.

Good of Ladbrokes not to let him waste his money then!

There is a name missing from the list that may be a strong candidate

Looking at the list of runners and riders on the betting sites. If you want a real gob smacker (in more ways than one) how about Psycho?
He's done a great job with the U21's and if he isn't in the running to succeed Cappello. He could probably do just as good a job at Villa Park.

The general's  post makes me think there's no chance of news imminently. Villa insider on twitter reporting moyes to be unveiled 1 July. Sounds dubious to me. Would probs hazard a guess at Hughes right now and I'd be pretty content with that

Yea, Moyes. Why isn't he even an option in the poll? Still a chance, albeit a slim one perhaps.

My mind keeps changing everyday it seems, right now I think it might be Hughes who gets the job. I really don't know though.
