What's the fashion perspective on checks ?
Do they make you look fat(ter) or thinner ?

Thicker, probably.

Never mind the quality, feel the width.

From SCG11:

Quote
As of yet there is no sponsor for the club shirts and therefore one option the club is considering is that the new strip maybe made available without the sponsors name. However if people do purchase one, then you will be able to return the shirt to have the sponsors name on at a later date. The kit is due out July for away and August for home. There will be no discount for the strip even though last years only came out 5 months ago.

When did SCG11 take place?

I can't imagine too many people returning their shirt to have the sponsors logo applied.

I like it. Just need to get rid of the FxPro logo and see what the new sponsor looks like. At least the checks aren't as hideous as the current kit, and it looks like Nike might have made us a decent shirt after last season's lazy effort.

And we've released an official statement saying that a prototype image has been circulating, it isn't the finished design and to buy the kits from the club shop when they're out. Is the kit posted on our previous page the one JJB had up?

I'll bet there was a right 'OH FUCK' moment in the Villa marketing department this morning when they realised the kit details were out there.

I would guess the only finalising of the design is the new sponsors name.

That kit has been designed for the best part of twelve months as well.

It's a shame in one way that it always gets leaked in this way, they'd probably be better off releasing a load of different designs into the electronic world so no-one knows which is the real one.

Good news. Even if I agree with those who think  that he only finalising of the design is the new sponsors name.

I have made a poll between the members of the Latin Lions and there is no one that considers it better than AWFUL, I think it's a record.

I really like that actually, the checks are quite understated, and the kit retains a traditional feel with a new twist, which is I suppose the most you can hope for really.

I'm happy with the shirt and shorts, especially if the new sponsor is something unoffensive. The fundamental aspects are there; claret body, blue sleeves, white shorts etc. Its certainly an improvement on this season's abomination, although its a shame about the white socks.

If the club insist on launching a new kit each season, then it puts a lot of pressure on the designers to come up with something different. As long as they stay within the parameters of claret body, blue sleeves, white shorts, and blue socks I'm generally happy - although I feel that overall sales are probably not helped by launching a new kit each year as people are put off buying something they will only get a year's wear out of.

Kit is nice, I'm not too arsed about the checks when they're different shades of claret, just the thought of Claret and Blue checks that I wasn't in agreement with.

White socks though? Not happy with that.

The statement from the OS is interesting. To me the leak was delberate, and a way to gauge opinion. They might have other final designs that they are considering, and this version might be the leading contender. What better way to get early feedback than using cyberspace and social media. Based in the reaction they would have had a more conservative and/or expressive design that they could have turned to.

The away kit should be interesting.

One thing I would say is that the bottom half of the away kit will probably have a fair bit of blue on it, as the shorts or socks are both white on the home.
