Oh how  ' Misery loves company ' .....we will survive , I have no doubts at all , by the end of May this preposterous Season will be buried in the Graveyard of al our other painful memories . The summer will see a number of "  Goodbyes" including a few  " good riddances " , there will be some  new faces to give hope and sustainance to our dreams .  August will see us , as ever , champing at the bit to get down for the first home game with a spring in our steps and hope in our hearts , twas ever thus .......................Godzvilla!

I'm off to Beijing for 4 days and the weather there is freezing cold but glorious sunshine. Great combination.

And we have 2 weeks to prepare for our next game. And maybe the internationals will break up our awful streak of form.

Much like Dave, I had a spiffing weekend. Good enough that I'd forgotten about the match entirely, and good enough still that after checking on the score I only felt a wave of seething rage for a couple of minutes before returning to enjoying the weekend with my lovely.

I dread to think how painful this season would be on me, if not for the welcome distraction of my lovely girlfriend. I would have very little reason to be cheerful.

Oh well, I look forward to local Derbies with Coventry and Leicester next year. Welcome back Darius Vassell!

I've just brought a house, I'm uncertain if that's a good thing or not at the moment but its a start, I'll have a door to lock and cry behind if it comes to it

I have dug the whole allotment and it looks ace. I even replaced the leaky tap on the communal water-butt. My neighbour gave me two large parsnips as a token of gratitude.

The single most important thing Graham Taylor ever said at Villa Park was "forget what you used to be like, this is what you are like now."

This is a humbling piece of GT profundity; I have an image of him saying this deep in the bowels of the Trinity Road stand, whilst a shaft of bright sunlight refracts through a stained glass window high above and onto Chris Price's head. "You have eight Champions League games" doesn't quite have the same effect.

Chris Herd a good game at centre-half, despite playing out of position. And looks a great prospect for the future.

He blocked one cross that looked like a certain goal in the making.

OK, at times he and NRC may have looked like they'd never met before when it came to passing but overall I was very impressed with Herd

I thought he had a great game considering he had never played there before. Looks a really good prospect and has a bit of aggression in him. Maybe he and Clarke could be a future pairing at CH

That was when we were 2-0 down at half time in the F.A Cup at Crewe i believe. I think he walked straight back out of the dressing room after he said it. We won 3-2. The man is a legend.

SGT also said I don't care what your bad at just what your good at!

We should adopt that policy also, and were good at long ball *winky*

On the plus side, I managed to get to work this morning without shitting myself. And given the state of my bowels today, that is a real bonus.

Hey, I didn't see a thread about this in off-topic. Whats going on?

Having said final farewell to a friend and neighbour of 30+ years this morning
the trials and tribulations of AVFC are put in prospective -
