Let's hope he plays well at Newcastle so we can actually make some money from his sale, and move on.

At the moment, we could have swapped Milner for £24 mill plus a multi pack of smoky bacon crisps.

At least Dunnie could have had a half time snack out of it.

It's a shame, because he is exactly the kind of player we need at the moment.

As a player he's not bad, but he does'nt seem right to me.He's the kind of bloke where nobody turns up at his funeral because he's fell out/offended everyone around him.

He really is completely off his trolley, isn't he? What an utterly deluded little tosser he is.

Pretty soon there'll be nobody left on earth who doesn't absolutely hate his guts - I wouldn't recommend too many trips to the lovely city of Cork in the near future, Stephen.

From the Fiver

"Newcastle midfielder Stephen Ireland claims he was misquoted in an article which reported him saying about his time at Aston Villa: "[Ged] Houllier asked me to come and live in Birmingham because it was taking me 75 minutes to come to training, For a start, Birmingham is a crap city and I wasn't going to make the effort, especially as I wasn't playing. Might as well be in Manchester if I had to stay home on match days." Ireland howled: "Everyone I have met from Birmingham have been nice - my girlfriend's father is from Birmingham, so why would I say that? It's just crazy. The way the interview was written made me sound very harsh.""

Charlie Sheen time - except he hasn't denied saying anything derogatory about his employers!  Otherwise, a similar lack of grasp on reality.  Sad.  I hope someone at Newcastle can intervene and get the lad playing again and keep him away from the press. Sacking his agent would seem like a good move, given the situations with the press he has set up his client to mess up.

He's clearly doing a good job of burning his bridges.

Irksome shit! I like how he said he'd signed for Martin O Neill, then he left. Never mind the fact the deal hadn't gone through for a good couple of weeks after O Neill had walked out. And if reports are to be believed, we were negotiating with him till the last minute the deal went through.

But yeah. "I said those things, but didn't mean them to sounds as harsh as they did cause I'm a nice boy, not a total prat!"

He is so arrogant he doesn't even want to play for his country, what a waster... My Irish roots come from Cork and it isn't that bad, if I were an full blooded Irishman reading this I would not be happy.

Cork says " Fuck You Too " .
If he did try to shoot himself he'd probably miss and then blame someone else.

All you need to know about Stephen Ireland from the ever excellent Mediawatch section in Football 365 today:-

Wish You Were Here?
"I know I'm going to feel at home at Villa Park. I'm actually shocked at how good it is" - Stephen Ireland, August 22.

"Birmingham is a c**p city" - Stephen Ireland, March 4.

Heard It All Before
"It didn't matter what I did in training, I wasn't ever going to get anywhere. Every player there knows that I was the first into training and the last to leave. I worked the hardest. I was practically always the best player in training, too" - Ireland complains about his treatment at Man City, August 2010.

"I was the best player in training. It was my team that won in every session" - Ireland complains about his treatment at Aston Villa, March 2011.

Before all the bad press, his poor performances for us and the hyperbole surrounding it, you know, he was just a much of a twat then.

Ironic that he's at Newcastle: it was where he debuted for Villa - apparently after having been absolutely lashed the night before. He obviously took his debut really seriously - and then got tonked 6-0.
He's in good company: Barton.

How do you know that, thanks for sharing though... I guess it just shows how arrogant he is to go on the pop before his debut.
