At least this tournament is proving the 50 over game still has a future thankfully, much prefer it to the 20/20 nonsense.

Agreed

According to Telegraph Broad is out of the World Cup.

Are we able to call up a second replacement?

Seems to be hinting on the BBC that Tremlett will replace him, so maybe we're allowed another replacement.

Shazad or Tremlett then?
Shahzad for me. After the WC, I'd go (assuming all fit): Strauss, Kieswetter/Prior, Trott, Bell, Bopara, Morgan, Bresnan, Swann, Broad, Shahzad, Woakes.

Bad news about Broad.

Agreed but I don't think we will win it even if we had him!

I know I'm biased, but I'd go for Woakes over Tremlett - I think he can add more overall.

Tremlett was always in the squad, but I do think we can call up another replacement if required.
Maybe Woakes? Probably no need though just yet.

It said on Sky earlier that Tremlett was a travelling reserve and not in the squad? Would need to be added I think.

Andrew Strauss (captain), Matt Prior (wicketkeeper), Ian Bell, , Paul Collingwood, Tim Bresnan, Eoin Morgan, Kevin Pietersen,  James Tredwell, Luke Wright, Graeme Swann, Jonathan Trott, Michael Yardy, James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Ajmal Shahzad.

Was the original squad - Morgan then got injured and replaced by Bopara. KP then got injured to be replaced by Morgan. So as it now stands it's -

Andrew Strauss (captain)
Matt Prior (wicketkeeper)
Ian Bell
Paul Collingwood
Tim Bresnan
Eoin Morgan
James Tredwell
Luke Wright
Graeme Swann
Jonathan Trott
Michael Yardy
James Anderson
Stuart Broad
Ajmal Shahzad

So I'm guessing in that case then, as Tremlett is already travelling with the squad, he will replace Broad.

Any chance Yardy could get injured next please.

This World Cup is silly. Even a great performance like that in the closing overs from New Zealand's batters means nothing as both teams will coast through anyway.

I would have it as Group Winners go straight into the semis, Group runners-up/ Group third place teams play-off for the remaining semi spots. That would make the opening round genuinely competitive, with the elite competing for top spots while other proper cricket nations worried they might not even get through.

I've only just got round to watching the highlights of the New Zealand v Pakistan match, the missed chances by the wicketkeeper were quite laughable and the bowling from Akhtar was shambolic. They couldn't be up to their old tricks again could they?

Someone was saying on the TV the other day that the Pakistan Cricket Board have asked the ICC to look into the India v England match because Shane Warne had predicted it to be a tie before the match started. I'm guessing he was taking the piss though! (About the fixing).

Nearly had another hat-trick from Sri Lanka but Jaywardena dropped the hat trick ball catch from Dilshan.

But what a fantastic match it has been.
