No. They did something which brought them an FA fine of £50 (hefty in 1908), although they had good reason for doing it.

Was it something to do with a name change of the club and being registered for that seasons competition in a different name ? I do know they were first elected to the football league in 1908.
Presently known as Bradford Park Avenue AFC, they were also known as Bradford FC and Bradford(Park Avenue)...the only club ever in the football league to have brackets in their name.

No, that may also be the case, but not what makes this particular game unusual for a club's record win in their history.

Correct. They were fined for fielding their reserve team, despite the fact the second XI clocked up what still stands as a club record win. The reason they played the reserves was that they were also expected to play a league game on the same day, so the first team played in the league and reserves in the fa cup.
