From what I can make out having had a chat with people in the know (my cousin used to be in the british paralympic cycling team and will be in the blind football for us this summer) the way the rule is written currently means that if something goes wrong at the start you're better off letting the bike fall and taking the restart as, if he'd tried to carry on and still had problems you can't take the restart after a certain time.

Based on that I'd guess what he was trying to say is that he may have been able to right things and carry on, but, when there's a rule to specifically cover an early crash like that, he'd be mad to not let the bike fall.  \i don't see anything controversial about that, if the badminton stuff hadn't happened there would probably have been very little interest in the story at all.

There are still a fair few people (jess ennis for example) who can put their names into the hat, but it'd take something spectacular to out do winning le tour and an olympic gold within a fortnight of each other.

I wouldn't say no to the lass who just won us the bronze in the judo. Mainly because i'd be too scared to.

The one who got the silver in judo yesterday (Gemma something) was on the telly later on, talking to Lineker, and looked very attractive.

wow, the girls on the bikes have just destroyed the field, nearly 4 seconds quicker than anyone else, despite other teams breaking the olympic record, that's very very impressive.
