Radcliffe getting the excuses in already. Only ever manages to perform when everything is staged and set up for her benefit and there is a big cheque at the end. (In my opinion).

I think she's well past her best and won't come anywhere. When was the last time she actually won a presigous Marathon?

agree JD. I think she's becoming the GB athletics of David Beckham.

Always has been. But at least Beckham always did his best for the team. Radcliffe has always been more interested in maintaining the integrity of Brand Radcliffe, and all the lucrative endorsements that go with it. (In my opinion)

I think you're all being a touch harsh on her based on her not doing the business at the olympics.  She's past her best now (she's 38, even for distance runners you're getting into veteran territory) and probably doesn't stand much of a chance in this olympics but at her best she was a tremendous runner, and probably looks back on her career upset that she hasn't got the olympic medal(s) that she should've.

You don't hold a world record for the best part of 10years if you aren't a world class athlete, yes she's done some stupid things and she's made a bit of a tit of herself a few times but to say she's in it for the money is well off target as far as I'm concerned.

Shawn Johnson has had to retire from gymnastics at age 20. So there's one less reason to watch that so-called sport.
