This is why I hate loaning players from ''bigger'' teams, in this case sodding Tottenham. We blood one of their young prospects giving him invaluable experience at the top level and pay his wages. He goes back to them worth considerably more and in good form. Win-win for them.

Or you could look for the positive which is we've had him as a decent stop gap for half a season so the gaffer can find a quality right back to sign in the summer.

This could be the start of the joustling over Ashley Young in the summer. Walker plus cash would be nice. Young is a good player to be letting go, but we need to move on. Albrighton will fill his boots just fine.

I can't see 'arry wanting young in the summer. He's just picked up piennar for £3 so I doubt he'll want another left winger with Bale and Kranjar also in the squad.

Walker, Kranjar and £5m and they've got themselves a deal in my book

The way Pienaar has played for them so far he might have been a bit dear at that price.

I reckon Bale will go to someone bigger and Kranjcar will leave. That leaves an opening for Ash...

Why can't we make a straight cash offer?
I don't see why Ashley should be part of any deal, unless he's desperate to go there.

As much as I like Walker, and of course Redknapp talks a lot of shit, if we arent going to sign him full time at the end of the season, and he is just here on loan, getting experience, id be inclined not to play him at all. Id rather play Lichaj  for the rest of the season, despite him not being as good. Id rather be improving our own youngster by giving him games and experience than doing Spurs any favours.

Adam matthews is out of contract at the end of the season. Very good young full back.

Glasses , we are in a relegation scrap and walker is helping our cause a great deal right now, the loan is doing both clubs a favour and I'd far rather walker help keep us up than throw lichaj in at this stage.

Lichaj is a decent right-back though. Kept the famous Gareth Bale very quiet.

I personally really like Kyle Walker. He's the type of right-back we've needed for a while. Adventurous, quick and gives us really good transition from defence into attack.

I think Redknapp should just keep quiet for once. Since when did he decide he wanted Walker back? Spurs have even a bigger conumdrum than us in the right-back position. I can see Kyle unfortunately having to waste atleast another season before enough is enough and Redknapp has to decide whether he wants him or not. Prime example is Jamie O'Hara. How they treat him is disgusting.

Redknapp said on the day he joined us that walker was here for premier experience only and would be going back to spurs- he's not suddenly just realised he's a decent player- I'm thankful for them loaning him to us as it helps us out of a mess.

It's no different to us loaning Blackpool bannan last season for experience , they just want to see him get a run in the premiership. I too would love walker permanently but I fully understand why spurs would want to keep him.

Do you think it's fair if he finds himself in the same situation as Jamie O'Hara? Never play him but don't want to sell him?

Disgusting?

We do much the same thing we have done with most of our young players. Look at how we have treated Lichaj!

Most big clubs send out young players to gain experience - it's nothing new and I don't see it as disgusting treatment in any way whatsoever. It's usually a situation that benefits both clubs and the player involved rather than sitting in the reserves .

Loaning players out is fine but at some point they will just run down their contracts.
I have no idea how long o'hara's contract was initially but with a year at spurs, one at Pompey and now at Bolton(?) he must be close to being a free transfer whereby he'll have all the leverage to negotiate a good deal for himself.

I'm not too worried about 'Arry's comments. They have 4 right backs so I can see one leaving. I also think Houllier should be able to identify an equally good alternative without having to pay stupid money (Kelly at Liverpool?).
