I think we're done trading too. The Cuellar to Rangers thing has completely fallen through due to his injury.

Yep. I think that's it for signings. There might be a token loan or free but nothing that'll affect the first eleven.

I'm just watch a rerun of the Fulham match and not as worried as I was before. I thought the formation worked well and with a few changes of personnel we'll be okay (13 to 8th).

Delph looked good to me and I think makoun will be a small improvement on Petrov. Add Clark in emergency and we have most positions well covered.

Not ideal but I'm confident that next year and even January we'll be well placed to grow again.

#avfc asked about loan availability of James Milner & Adam Johnson, but #mcfc told them neither allowed to go temporarily or permanently

Johnson started tonight for City, so shows where he is. Milner sat on the bench for much of it. Neither are coming.

Interesting and good to see we asked the question, of course, if the tweet is true.
It suggests we still have ambition if the right players are available.

A half-heated attempt to loan one or two players that were never likely to come here due to their sky high wages. You call that "ambition" ?

How would you know if it was half-hearted or not?? Damned if they do and damned if they dont

We could always be Spurs - apparantly they are doing their usual thing to balance the books - sell a key player for huge money with hours to go so Balloon head cannot spend it

Take out Man u / Man city / Chelsea / 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' is there really any players that have moved with other clubs that would be a starter in our 1st XI

There maybe a few at clubs still and only big / silly money could prize them away (Parker is an example) but other than that of the ones that have moved i cannot see one that would be a regular starter in our first XI

If Milner and Johnson are unavailable, how about Wright Phillips or Bellamy on loan.  I think both would be better than Heskey or Gabby in the wide supporting roles to Bent.

yes id take bellamy ahead of gabby in that role and swp ahead of heskey  in that role -both i expect would be made available on loan.

Bellamy is on big money. In think Man City paid his wages at Cardiff but there's no way they'd do that with us.

we should have Nzog wide left, Albrighton wide right, bannan or the mentalist in the hole with Delph and makoun behind

Exactly

he was on something like 70k per week and cardiff were only paying 10k of it.

lets be honest if SWP and bellamy is the way forward we may as well have an "Elephants Graveyard" sign above VP

agree 100% and add to that Gabby as an impact player off the bench and add heskey into that if we need to "defend from the front" whatever that means

What Eck has got to do is get out of this mentality of defending from their half in numbers and then "hope" to knick a goal

It may have been what was acceptable at the Blues but with us, especially at home we have to use what flair players we do have and go to win the game in an entertaining way

Nothing will turn the crowds off more than boring , negative , anti football
