Did McLeish sell Muamba when at Blose?

Corluka didn't have Young in his pocket. He doubled up on him with somebody else.

Corluka is alright, nothing special at all. I'd sooner have Naughton off them.

Muamba, Mulumbu and Diame are all talented young battling defensive minded central midfielders.

I like N'Zoni (sp?) and given Blackburn's current situation you would have though he would be available at a decent price.

N'Zonzi is a good shout too. Phil Jones was preferred in midfield over him last season which was odd, because he's a good player. One of him, Mulumbu, Diame or Muamba would be a good cheapish signing. Muamba would be my last choice of the four, though.

Cj - it was wolves who we wouldn't pay the fee for keane, Coventry then signed him from wolves and virtually doubled their money by selling him to inter Milan not much more than a year later.

Wasn't that around the same time we signed Bosko Balaban for just under £6M??

I recall Keane bid and Balaban signing were both under Gregory's management.
Sir Alex Ferguson was in the paper saying he wouldn't pay £500k for Robbie Keane, let alone the extra £500k Wolves wanted from us. Then Doug pulled the deal IIRC.

Yep - he left after they went down in 2008.

Muamba is toss IMO.

NZonzi or Diame could be decent, but I've not seen enough of them.

I'm starting to like the idea of Mulumbu, so he'd be my top choice of the four and as of now 1st alternative if we can't get Scott Parker.

It was Gregory who said he wouldn't pay more than £6m. Doug was prepared to I think.

Hope Sky are correct in saying we are thinking of bidding for Vargas.

Gregory is on record as saying it was his decision not to pay the extra £500k for Keane, but I can't remember Doug ever commenting one way or the other?

I get the feeling that that story is just been touted around so we dont look like nzogbia is our only option, i doubt theirs anything in it, but it would be nice.

Must admit that upon researching him I initially thought he was quite young.  Suppose 27 isn't that bad, but I think I was getting him mixed up with Jovetic at Fiorentina who is only 22/23.
