I can't imagine Defoe would have gone up there anyway to be honest.

Again vs , an exciting looking team and very solid through the spine.

I knew I should've applied for the job!

Swap Dunne and Ireland for Collins - Albrighton. And i will put your name forward .....

Far from certain that he ours even if Sunderland are out of it- I can't see why it is taking so long - surely we can afford the £9m fee - come on faulkner you've had your 2 weeks honeymoon so now get cracking .

For me Ireland plays best in a 4-3-3, so if we could get something like this I'd be very happy.

---------------------Given-------------------
---Hutton---Cuellar---Dunne---Clark---
---------------------Parker------------------
-----------Makoun---------Delph----------
---Ireland----------------------N'Zogbia---
---------------------Bent---------------------

That does look a very good team, provided Ireland and Dunne sort themselves out. That and a lack of injuries and a bit of luck along the way and we could easily qualify for europe / have a good cup run.

Blimey guys! Calm down! We're all picking teams/formations including players who are still only wishful thinking....

still, fits the thread title nicely...and it's wonderful to play the game isn't it? Just goes to show how we're all warming to the new manager and looking forward to the new season.
I just hope we see some genuine action over the next few days to make us turn these dreams into something a bit more real.
UTV!

Agree eastie. Faulkner has to make this move "now" give sunderlands CEO a ring if you are having problems on what to do ........

Do not think we need to spend cash on Hutton. Money needs to be spent on other positions .........

Hopefully he never had such problems on his honeymoon.

Standard stuff from Liverpool.

"Sell Downing to us or we'll buy the player you're after."

Reports that city have agreed £23m fee for nasri, and also believed to to have agreed deals for aguerro and Samuel eto.

LookiNg like bit part roles for Milner and Barry next season me feels.

My worry would be in midfield, lose on of them three and we'd be short with only Petrov as back up.
Well, there's Petrov, Hogg, Herd, Gardner and Bannan. Admittedly, lots of rookies but we have to take the chance to see if they'll work. If not, show them the door for a fee and move on. This has to be the season that this lot (with the exception of the youngest, GG) either make it or move on.
With Albrighton, Makoun, Delph and Ireland already in the squad, and possibly a Parker-type and N'Zogbia-type to come in we can afford to play these youngsters as squad players with confidence.

I've just read this myself and the person who wrote the article named himself 'Football Spy'. Haha, talk about not commiting yourself.

As for us, Nzogbia and Given would be two decent solid bit's of business to start us off with.
