Come on, he wasn't good enough when he was here and nothing has changed. We've got enough midfielders who can't pass a ball.

Everything has changed. He's a far improved player would certainly add something to the midfield. Especially when certain players may well be leaving.

Nothing has changed and he wasn't good enough? Is this real life? He only left us when he was still in his early 20's.

Since he's left he's won the Bundesliga, played Champions League football and became a regular in the German national team.

He's vastly improved, he's also unfortunaely had a few injuries too.

Der Hammer was a crowd favourite.

I like Tommy, but no thanks.

Yes please to Vaughan on a free transfer though.

Thought N'Zogbia played well today, as did McCarthy.

Correct. Not good enough.

Too many faults in his overall game and nothing has changed.
Terrible in the tackle. Avoid.

The Hitz can be filed under anonymous.  Fucking useless.  He's the invisible man. Just having a good shot doesn't make him a good player.  Not good enough for Villa, even if we are shit.

Before making this post I must state I don't want, or expect, us to solely do business with teams below us in the league, neither do I want us to sign all of these players.

But players that have impressed me who I think may be worth taking a look at from the relegation threatened sides:

Blackburn: Robinson, Samba, Olsson, N'Zonzi, Jones, Kalinic
Small Heath: Foster, Dann, Johnson, Larsson
Wigan: Al-Habsi, Figueroa, Diame, N'Zogbia, Rodagella
West Ham: Green, Parker, Obinna, Ba

Adam and Doyle worth looking at, too.

Samba, Larsson, N'Zogbia and Ba are players I actually would like us to sign as well.

Rodallega is a daisy. I'd steer clear.

Of that list we should definitely have a look at Robinson, Parker, N'Zogbia, Foster, Dann, Johnson and Jones.
But that's about it.

Being linked with John Arne Risse in the NOTW today.

Friedel linked with WBA and Downing with Man Utd too.

That has to be a wind-up.  John Arne fucking Rise.  He must be about 40 now?!?  Are they talking about the Villa seniors or something.  Him and Pires could form a formidable opponent against WBA's Brendan Batson and Cyrille Regis.

As for Downing to leave.  I said to my dad at the game, if you take Downing and Young out of that team it's decidedly average at best and nailed on relegation at worst.  They are pretty much the only two players that might start for a bigger club.  Those expecting Marc Albrighto to step up next year (me included) would've been very worried by his performance yesterday.  That said, young players do drift in and out of form.

How utterly depressing.  Doesn't matter if we finish 6th or 16th.  If our better players are wanted by MANCHESTER UNITED for another one of 'those nights in *insert European City* or LIVERPOOL (FC of course) then there is nothing we can do to stop it.

He's 30, according to Wikipedia. Hardly a pensioner (I hope as it's only two years older than me!).

I just hope it's newspaper bullshit as that's too horrific to consider.

I can't put up with another relegation scrap next season.
