What a day. We are lucky to have a Chairman who is all action and no talk.  This has blown the O'Neill inspired myth of us being a selling club apart in the most resounding way. It gives a kick up the ass to our truculent older pros and is a massive vote of confidence for Houlier. If this moves comes off it will have been a masterstroke.

You've got class Mr Chairman.  Well done and thanks.

I'd go with a forward line of:

Downing - Bent - Heskey - Young - Gabby - Albrighton

With Ireland and Bannan playin slightly withdrawn behind them, Walker and Clarke as wingbacks and Dunne as the defence and rush goalie.

So that would be a change from him playing  fully withdrawn?

Just realise I've left out Carew, looks like Dunne is going to mis the cut in my dream team now.

Nah, Walker's attacking enough.

Clark's not going to win any headers over Heskey or Carew - Delfouneso can be left-back.

please call me a prat if u want. But do you really think we will see gabby up front with bent?  I can see gabby being dropped.  Downing left albrighton right young behind bent

OK Prat I think the pair of choice shoud be Heskey and Bent with Gabby on the bench coming on to change the game if we (EVER!) need that from now on.

No I'll keep Clarke where he is, Nathan can be an attacking rush goalie.
