Atkinson. The best goal and a celebration that is still talked about 20 odd years later. Carews will always be good as it was against THEM and the euphoria with Ashleys goal will saty with me for a long time. But Atkinson s is the best

Great summary. Young just edges it for me (well, it would, wouldn't it!).

I thought this was about goal celebration rather than best goal?

Carew's for me. A bit of class.

Favourite will always be Andy Gray's two arm salute to the Holte.

Most understated: Gordon Cowans.

Yes, it is the celebration, not the actual goal itself.

Just for the celebration I would go:

1. Atkinson
2. Carew
3. Young

However for the one that gives me the best feeling it's Young.  I watched it in a pub in Leicester with a couple of mates and lots of neutrals.  There was a Toffee in there, we didn't exchange words but there were plenty of knowing looks during the game.  When it went 2-2 he made a point of catching my eye and giving me a very smug smile before going to the bar to order a celebratory drink.  It hurt bad, it felt like a loss and he'd rubbed it in.  Then we scored, he shouted the barman who had an empty glass in hand, cancelled his order and buggered off.  Meanwhile I was jumping around like a mad man.  That one will last for a *very* long time!

Yeah I did mean best celebration..just it happened to be the best goal as well! If I'd have been the bloke with the umbrella every room of my house would have that in a huge frame on the wall. Its almost Iconic!!

The best/worst/funniest/most outrageous celebration that Cowans reminds me of is when he got kicked into the net after scoring the penalty against barcelona in the Super Cup. Dont get me wrong I did nt find it funny at the time!!

I know what you mean. We watched it in Aldridge Cricket club which is very Villa in the main and there were two Everton Fans (at the front) who you can imagine went a bit crazy when they equalised ( to the point that its good its a friendly club!)

You can only imagine what happened about a minute later!! They soon left too funnily enough

I love Ashley's (and Gabby's for that matter celebrations). Especially when they're infront of opposition fans and they do just enough to wind the fuckers up without getting booked.

Such good wind up merchants. Gabby especially as he's detested by opposition fans.
