I was at the game at the Hawthorns in 1967 where Woodward was crocked. Stan Jones certainly played in the match and I think it was him that injured JW.

Woodward, commenting on his injury forty years later, was more inclined to bemoan the poor treatment he received from Villa's medical staff. He felt that if his injury had been correctly diagnosed and treated, he would have been able to play some part in Villa's then annual relegation battle.
