We all talk about raising the profile of the club beyond B6 but when we have 'celebrity' fans that don't exactly sit well with 'real' fans' view on life, they are not wanted.

If through the PM/Prince William etc we encourage other people from a far to start supporting Villa, that has got to be a good thing, hasn't it?  We should be using the 'celeb' fans to promote the club.  Perhaps then we might start to get some of the media behind us.

It'll start the age old debate about whether people who don't go to matches are 'proper' fans at this rate.

I don't like Cameron. I think he comes across as being fake and rehearsed. Beckham and William seemed to speak more naturally. However, if he wants to support our club then that's fine by me.

Some of the comments on here, such as celebrating his death, are embarrassing.

Didn't he refer to Albion as "WBA"?

Don't know about that, but I saw Hugh Grant on Sky once for a Fulham V West Brom match, and he said "WBA".

Not sure I like the idea of people supporting us on the basis that Those pair supposedly do.

You would think that might be the case but if the PM's and Williams recent influence is anything to go by then our supporter base has to be on the slide.

what a load of bitter socialists

heaven forbid that we live in a country where your accent or the school you went to should define you as a person

he may be a tad smarmy but he's never been fake about the Villa

unlike that total tool about Newcastle who then declared war on top of it

Bitter socialists? Can't think why.

Oh, how about those lost steel works, coal mines, car factories, the poll tax and never-ending wars?

That should keep us all bitter for the time being.

Much as I detest the Tories, I don't think we can blame them for that.

I'm just hoping Cameron predicts a Tory win at the next election...and is just as accurate...

One thing I can predict with near certainty is that the Lib Dems will be fucked in the next election. In the run-up to the vote they will have to emphasise the difference between themselves and the Tories. On every policy issue, people will say "why should we trust you, you'll just abandon that after the election like you did with the tuition fee pledge.".

This is 2010, why are we still going on about coal and steel?  As for cars, if we had made some decent cars then maybe they wouldn't have all been wound up - something the Americans have finally caught up to.

Quite.   In any case, there is nothing wrong with a good punch up - except the last one in Iraq.

Yes, it would be convenient to forget the places where the people who used to do these jobs live.

Forget them?   I now live in the City that was the steel capital of the world and I'm married into a family of former and current steel workers.   Talk about re-invention, a lot of places could learn a lesson or two from Pittsburgh about losing your main industry and coming out the other side smelling of roses.
