Is Andy Caroll really the sort of person we want our children pinning poster on their wall of?

What makes him any different to the likes of Terry, Rooney or even Gerrard for that matter

I'm well past the point of wanting Villa players in the England squad, they only get a taste for the £100k a week wages and all the other bollocks.

Very surprised that capello hasn't picked downing having been at the game yesterday- downing is playing some great stuff this season and should have been picked.

Downing was in the last squad wasn't he? So he's not only been left out, he's been dropped. Very strange. And Albrighton is better than Wilshere

Carroll and Jay Bothroyd is a good Division 2 strike paring, nothing more

Nobody seems to have mentioned it, but is there any reason Kieron Gibbs is in the squad?  I don't recall him even playing for Arsenal, and he seems to be included for the sole purpose of Capello saying 'I'm turning to the youngsters, this isn't the team that started the world cup' before proceeding to bring in the same 11 clowns who let the country down when a competitive game comes around.

I think Capello has lost the plot.

Smalling has barely played a game for Man United, yet gets called up.

He picks Kevin Davies, then immediately drops him next time, having learned nothing.

He picks Gabby who, with all the will in the world, is clearly a long way from his best having just this week returned from injury.

Bothroyd? A jobbing striker at the very best.

Gibbs? He's young and plays for Arsenal, so get him in.

Also, Ashley is in the squad, but Downing, who has had an infinitely better season than him, is not.

I thought Capello got a lot of unfair stick over the WC debacle, but he seems to have totally lost the plot now, and given up even pretending to try to do the best we can.

Capello needs to go. Get Hiddink in.

I heard that on Talksport as I was driving. Think it was on the 7pm news bulletin.

Gabriel Agbonlahor has also returned to Villa after being assessed by England medical team. All other players have reported to the team hotel.
