This could be a blessing as Carew will be gone soon, and the Fonz will get some much needed action. I personally think he has a good footballing brain, and this will be a great test for him and his ability.

Im just worried what are plan b is for tomorrow? And if anyone else gets injured. Frank Macavenie on loan?

anyone else getting that feeling the 4-6-0 might happen again?

It isn't 4-6-0 tho is it?

So we're playing 2 'midfielders' upfront doesn't mean that we're not playing anyone upfront. Surely you're not that simple.

Surely your not simple enough to think midfielders are forwards....

If Fonz gets injured A Young will have to go up top with Barry coming in.  Also Gabby should be back for the Blackburn match so will only miss the next 3.  Weimann might be back soon too, but I'm only guessing with that.  I bet Stephen Ireland never thought when he signed that with Delph, Petrov, Gabby, Heskey, Weiman and Carew all out not only would he not be starting but that Bannan would be more likely to come off the bench than him.

Everton played well with no strikers last season I think, Cahill and Feillani filled in and they still secured some good results.

after some long hard thought i have decided that Brad Guzan should be put up front and be told its a game of piggy in the middle. You ever saw him playing piggy in the middle? He's like a pig in sh*t.

If Collins and Zak Knight can be used as strikers so can Bradley!

Feel a bit bad for Carew - this was possibly his last chance to get a run of games as our main striker.

I said in another thread after he scored against Arsenal in the stiffs that Fonz would get a chance between now and the New Year, I didn't think it would come this quickly!

Apparently Carew getting injured makes this a 'crisis'. For me, the crisis was that we might have to play Carew. I'd rather play the Fonz or play the 4-6-0 that can be, actually, a very attacking formation depending on who you have in the 6 - and my feeling is we'd have four attack-minded players in the 6, making us very attack minded.

Where's all these up and coming kids we can depend on as well ?

One will be playing, one is injured and one is out on loan.

Incredible news.

MON had a lot of 'luck' with regard to injuries, GH is being exposed early on to just how shallow our squad is.

Message to Fonz - go get em bud!

The transfer window is not far off. Gérard Houllier should look to the French for strikers.
