Delfouneso was sat not far from us for the youth cup game at home to Newcastle last season, i've heard alot about his attitude not being rite and him thinking he's already made it etc but being there on a thursday nite to give the kids support would kind of suggest otherwise, I bloody hope he takes his chance over the next month

I still doubt if the Fonz will get a game.

BBC Site says:

Houllier confirmed that Nathan Delfouneso will make his first Premier League start after 14 appearances as a substitute during the past three seasons.

This could be a blessing in disguise.

We all want to see what the Fonz can do, now that GH is forced into a situation it could be his and our luck that the Fonz performs like we hope he can.

There was no other option than for Delfouneso to play - he's still only very young but maybe this may allow him to give him his first real big chance. With our striker injury crisis going on right now I'm sure Nathan is going to impress Houllier as much as he can because he'll want to be more involved in the team in the future.

We're suffering real bad with injuries now and from being "Oh, we'll be able to cope" it's now "FUCK, how can it get this bad... we're so unlucky with all these injuries, we only have 1 striker!".

Who's in the youth set up who could step up right now? Collins jnr is out on loan isn't he? Whatever happened to McGurk? Do we still have Gustavo Bartelt hidden in a locker somewhere?

To be honest, this season is a bit of a write off, so it would be nice to see the likes of Fonzy and Bannan get as much of a run as Albrighton. I'm more than confident we'd not be in danger of relegation.

It's not long till january anyhow, so we can cling on till then for re-inforcements.

What is clear though, is that Carew AND Heskey are both ready for the glue factory. There's just no point having them when they spend so much time injured or nursing injuries, or playing with niggles and below their potential. Onwards and upwards.

Getting ridiculous now !!

I'd play Fonz up front on his own ash just behind and Ireland in the middle

Let's bring Rooney, Defoe and Van Persie in on loan for a month!

Some fitness coach?

Where's all these up and coming kids we can depend on as well ?

At least its an away game, the opposition will play to our breakaway tactics and there are a few capable of scoring in such situations.

Mind Rooney needs match practice can't we do a deal with Sir A

Gary Shaw out of retirement.

And give Sid a shirt while you're about it. I bet he's more mobile than Sidwell.

Maybe my suspicious mind but how on earth does
John (doesn't try very hard in training) Carew pick up an injury
the morning before saturday's match ?

Anyone who witnessed what he puts in to a warm up when
there was an open training session at Villa Park couple of weeks
ago might wonder about this training ground injury

Well that'll be the Fonz and the old fart Agbonlahor that have come through our excellent youth system.

It is frankly embarrassing though for a PL team to be unable to field a senior striker.  Very poor show indeed.

Personally, I think this just shows how unfit Villa really were. The amount of injuries that have been sustained through training really shows that this new, proper regime is taking their toll.
