For some reason I associate the Black Eyed Pease 'Meet me halfway' and that Katy Perry song from earlier this year (the one 'if we meet again') with our home League cup semi final against Blackburn. I think it's because they got a lot of airtime around then because it certainly wasn't because I had a liking for the songs!

Reminds me of Liverpool away in May '83.

Theme from an Unmade Silent Movie and Hi Ho Silver Lining are general Villa songs that make me glad to be a Villa fan.

New York, New York is Wembley '96.

My Girl by The Temptations is the FA Cup quarter final defeat at Anfield 92, the season we really should have won the thing.

West End Girls by The Pet Shop Boys is a near deserted Holte during the dire 85-86 season at half time in a match I've long since expunged from my memory.  Whenever I hear that song it just makes me feel depressed: I can feel the cold coming up through the inadequate footwear I had on and the feeling of complete frustration at the Villa's plight: three seasons ago we were the reigning Champions of Europe...

Shock off the lightening - Oasis
This is an emergancy - Pigeon Detectives

Both songs used to be played before the games at VP a few years ago, reminds me off the 2-2 dramatic draw with Arsenal.

Also Club Foot - Kasabian, was also played before and used to get me 'pumped up'

I don't know why it's this song cos but it's 'Come on Eileen' when we lost 3.1.First home game of 82/83 I think.
We had just won the European cup and were not expecting to lose to Sunderland at home. They bought thousands and their fans were brilliant and were singing and dancing to this at half time.

Come and get it from the 3rd Division days.

Tracey - Cuff Links and Love Grows - Edison Lighthouse - late sixties before relegation.

Barbara Ann - Beach Boys - around 1973/4/5 - behind the goal at Forest with a huge mob waiting outside for us.

Thought of another one - Beautiful Day U2 - Aug 2001; first game of the season at the Lane, watching us on Match of the Day at Euston, soaking wet (inside and out) as I recall.

My little lad's got a musical toy that plays "Oh my darling Clementine", and I can't help but sing "Hand it over, hand it over, hand it over Arsenal", as though it's Valentines Day 1990 all over again.

The same song reminds me of the Man City game at Villa Park on New Years Day 1986 - it was playing at half time - we ended up losing 0-1.

Mull of Kintyre,  Baseball Ground , 1977
I think in those days they gave us half the Popside, one of the worst
views around. Think this game was around the festive season &
remember all the fans singing along to this.

Bad Manners, Can- Can   1981, Charity Sheild.
Takes me back to the pub in Toddington  where the Cincinnati branch,
of Villa fans , a factory in Erdington not the USA !
took over the Sat night disco.

Theme from an unmade silent movie by Hurricane Smith transports me back to when we were the best team in England, and then the best team in Europe. The club should re-instate it, play it before every game.

Spaceman by The Killers reminds me of Zat Knight's last minute Christmas equaliser against Arsenal.

Not sure it can be classed as a single moment but my mate who had a habit of constantly playing his current favourite song in the car played Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac all the way back from Swindon in '88. I seem to remember we adopted Tempole Tudors 'Swords of a thousand men' as our theme song for the quarter final at Liverpool in '92 as well.
