As Dave made clear in other threads those in the know know exactly what a shit O'Neill is.
At Dave's request, I'll leave it there.
Apologies from me for the stupid offensive remarks.
Regardless of what we think of O'Neill, he's going to be hard pushed to find a new club with much to spend in this financial climate.I can't see Newcastle shelling out much under Ashley and I don't think Liverpool are inclined to go mad either.
Make of this what you will but I was told last week that he was told the size of the transfer budget and of the need to move players on in May and was set to walk then (and apparently in retrospect wishes he had) but thought he could persuade the chairman over the summer that he should make more funds available to him and when this didn't happen he went. The source is a relatively normal nose who met a friend of O'Neill's at a wedding reception so take it with as much salt as you see fit.

Really thought apart from Onouha in particular and Henderson that they were a poor side. I cant think where he will go really especially with Uefa's 70% wagecap coming in. To be honest I think in British football circles his name is dirt after his antics this summer and even though his star was on the wane anyway, he really has noone to blame but himself. As a manager its abroad he needs to go anyway like McClaren to pick up new ideas.

Throw in a Carling Cup final and an FA Cup Semi-Final and the signings of like Ashley Young. Someone in the Premier League will take a chance with him. You can be rest assured about that.Which is why I imagine Mr. O'Neill has been very quiet and secretive over this. He'll be looking to explain his reasons for walking out to the new chairman, owner, whatever and ensure it stays out of the public media.
