The Thai chap 'Poom' is an awesome guy and refreshing  in attitude when playing in world championships great job sorrie to see him out

Brilliant how he laughed off the 3 fouls that lost him that frame. Great attitude.

He seemed a nice guy, and his name sounds like "Poontang". What's not to like?

Is there anyone in any sport more odious than Barry Hearn?

I think Selby is due to win it.  If not this time, then soon.

I love the snooker and am really looking forward to this.  I don't think Ronnie will win it again due to his lack of match practise this season.

Well, so much for my prediction.

O'Sullivan still seems to be struggling with his long game, but once he's in he's deadly.  It'll take a good player to beat him.

Ding has probably played the best snooker so far this tournament.

The match practise doesn't seem to be that much of an issue... Higgins won his first tournament back after his ban didn't he?

Barry Hawkins single-handedly ruined both of my bets. The swine.

cdsimondawkinsfan quietly adds Barry Hawkins to his list of odious people in sport.

Earl Strickland is probably the biggest bellend of the ones you mentioned.

[/quote I had Selby at 6/1. Its not the first time i've had him to win it. Never going anywhere near him again he is like a 1970s style snooker player, just match play and no fluid break building.

Higgins was practising all the time though ready for his come back.  O'Sullivan had pretty much given up the game and only started playing again shortly before the Championships started.

Thats why Ronnie is so special. He hasn't played for a year, has only been practising a month or so, yet can come back and play a session of snooker, like this afternoon that no one has got anywhere near to matching its standard all season.

Unless his form drops significantly, he'll canter to the title.

And then walk away again from the sounds of it. Only came back for the money to pay his kids school fees, seems strange not to just do a bit of after dinner work if that is the way he really feels about Snooker. He is brilliant and the only player I find exciting to watch play, but his on off play, not play, don't really like it thing is strange. I do wonder is he is just finding a way of deflecting the pressure from himself by convincing himself not to care.

Does anyone else think Barry Hawkins looks a bit like Paul McGrath?
