General can you point Gerrard to the premier league website, he will find in the statistics section that we come 5th in the all time premier league table,

So we do not belong between 7th-12th, but towards the top of tge league competing for as much as possible.

How about if the question was "how do you remember Aston Villa from your time at Liverpool?", and the answer without looking at the stats in detail was what he gave. Would he have been that wrong? There were times we came in the top 6, times we came 7th, and we even came 16th in 2003. Without knowing the actual question, which isn't printed, we're jumping all over him. Some of us on here need to develop thicker skins.

Am I allowed to say i've never been so underwhelmed by anything since I first heard 'Illumination' by Paul Weller?

Fairly baffling appointment and it seems Houllier is possibly underwhelmed by a team that (according to him and him alone) finishes between 7th and 12th. I still think Mark, Chico and myself could have done it as a job share and whatsmore we're all available to work now.

General, I wonder if Houllier has any relationship with Carlos Quieroz. He'd make a superb assistant manager, and possible future Villa boss. It's a shame KM didn't want this, but it presents the opportunity for someone else now. Having great coaches at the club will push us forward in leaps and bounds, and help attract better players. Just a thought.

General Krulak here:

1.  Thanks for the many comments re. our new Manager.  We certainly recognize that we cannot please everyone but we honestly believe we made the "right" choice at this time.  GH understands our Club, understands where we want to go, has a very good sense of our ethos and traditions, and is excited about being part of the Villa.  He is a good person...there is not a fan who would not like him if you met him.  At the end of the day, Villa is both a Family and a Partnership...interestingly, the members of both are the same.  We have the Fans, the Players, the Manager, the Coaches, the Staff at Villa Park and Bodymoor Heath, the Board and the Owner.  EVERY member wants the very best for the Club.  EVERY member wants to shoot as high as we can.  Like any Family or Partnership, we can have our honest disagreements...we can have our ups and downs.  But at the end of the day, the strength of any Family or Partnership is found in the mutual respect and support we show each other.  I am very excited about GH joining the Family and Partnership and he has my total support.

2  We have the greatest respect for KM and for what he has done for the Club over the past weeks.  He stepped in at a crucial time and we should all be very greatful to him.  He selflessly mannned the ramparts and did all that needed to be done.  We are fortunate to have him with us.  I know each of you join me in expressing our deep appreciation for what he has done.

General,

When do you realistically expect him to take over the helm?

General, are you able to to tell us of any plans to make up for this farce of a release date for this season's kits?

3 months after the league season began is pathetic, I've never seen a top flight team make such a mess of their kit release. It's all well and good saying Nike are to blame, but when you, once again, delay the announcement of the sponsor (like it was a surprise that we'd need to look for one), the club has to take a large part of the blame.

Will we be keeping the same kits for next season? Or will we be finding another excuse for an August release (if we're lucky?).

It will probably be available before the new manager.

GeNeral I really think that the club should announce that they intend to keep the home and away kit for next season as well as the release date of November is quite frankly not good enough value .

We always seem last to release our shirts and are missing out in revenue because of this-please could you make efforts to make sure this shirt has an 18 month lifespan other than just 6 months, or reduce it to half price!

General, who will be in the frame for supplying our shirts next season as I don't think Nike have lived up to expectations this time around.

General I appreciate your probably fed up with the new replica shirt saga.

Can you confirm if this will now be a two year deal? I was going to buy both but no-way am I forking out £110 for two shirts that are going to run out in may

General, thanks for your comments about our new manager, I think you'll find we're all behind him, when he actually starts that is.

As for the kit debacle, words fail me if the club honestly believe that sticking with a £45 price tag and trying to show it as a £5 saving off the RRP is fair. Most people don't get numbers etc stuck on their shirts so the free printing is another red herring.

Frankly I think that the 'deal' on offer is offensive unless the club is keeping the same shirt and sponsor for next season. Please will you confirm whether this is the case and ensure the club put out another official statement to ensure the supporters are making an informed decision when buying the kit. Thank you.
