Could be curtains for John Carew. To be honest I don't mind Carew being shipped out. The guy only decides to turn up when HE wants, and that is always after January.

I don't see any truth in this. If anybody would have issues with Houllier it'll be Carew. But we have Gabby and the Fonz coming through anyway.

He can't come in and drop Warnock or Friedal...at least not until he can sign his own players and Friedal will need eplacing in the next year or so in any case...

Nothing to see here.

Can't see Carew being a problem in France Carew was too slow and too big for their game, Carew is built for the premiership and i'm sure Houllier will know that

If Carew gets shipped out because it indicates a change in philospohy at the club then I'd support that. I happen to think Carew can be effective in a number of different styles. That is we don't just have to pump it up to him. I want to see us play the ball on the deck a lot more in the future, and I want us to buy players that can not only control the ball, but keep possession and are bright enough to adopt different strategies and tactics.

It's time we had another quote from Curtis Davies to put some more credibility on it.

I hope he's the first guy shown the door in January. Fucking waster. He's a legend in his own mind.

I bought the News of the world today for the first time in my life (I want one of those £5 hotel rooms). I know I knew already but what an awful rag. Everything about it is sleazy and they love all that kiss and tell rubbish. Having no doubt given a prostitute a small fortune, they end the Rooney piece with 'but when it comes to morals, he's a pauper'.

As far as the players revolt story goes they have simply seen that a few players did not make his teams in the past and then put a sensationist angle to it. Its made up crap that they need to create a story to fill the gaps left when the transfer window closed.

Warnock was only a young lad at Liverpool when Houllier was there so natural for him to be sent out on loan so can't see what beef he'd have with GH.

Friedel, you'd expect GH to realise he's a much better keeper now than when he was at Liverpool.

Only one I'd expect to be miffed is Carew, I certainly would be if I was swapped for Baros!

Friedel and Carew's contracts are expiring this year aren't they? And while they've been good value, they're ageing and on massive deals. I wouldn't be totally against saying goodbye to either.

Warnock is a player I wanted us to sign for ages, when we did I was over the moon. But he's been shite since his whiplash at Old Trafford and I'm starting to question his ability.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about the Carew/Baros thing, at the time it made sense for both clubs, Carew was better suited to the English game rather than French and visa versa with Baros.

Warnock's still decent but has certainly suffered more lapses during games since O'Runner rushed him back from injury in time for the cup final.

Carew won't be here this time next year. Friedel will get a new 1 year deal with added coaching I'd imagine.

Well as we currently have no GK coach that wouldn't be a bad idea.

The News of The Screws have hardly covered themselves in glory with this piece, but I doubt they will lose any sleep over it.
