Dulwich Hamlet for me too

Fisher Athletic are my local team ( Fisher FC now). The Bash Street kids from Bermondsey are the traditional bitter rivals of Dulwich "Hamlet" ( a hamlet in Brixton??).

Don't they ground share now?

I had to look all this up because I've never followed non-league football but yes I believe they do. Dulwich Hamlet are at home on the Saturday and Fisher are at home against Ringwood Town on the Sunday.

Obviously some sort of historical reference. "It were green fields ere when I were a lad". But it does sound cosy for Brixton doesn't it?

A couple of years ago, I discovered my Great-Uncle McDonald was born on Brixton Hill. Which was a shocker as i didn't know any of my family were from London and now live in Streatham. We found the road on an old map and the prison has been built over it.

Brixton prison. Christ there's a place. The only place I've been in where the officers really haven't got an idea what's going on on any of the landings.

As I'm working on Saturday I made my contribution last night in the mighty Southern League Prem derby, as Halesowen Town (the mighty Yeltz) turned over Stourbridge 2-0, Stefan Moore got the first!!
I was there too as Stour are my lifelong 2nd club. Your mighty yeltz didnt get a kick till they were 2 up. Then didnt get a kick in the 2nd half.......still I suppose its goals that win games eh.

I used to play for Romulus.

Maybe this should have gone in the "Interesting Facts" thread.

I'm going just down the road to watch the Mikes (Boldmere St Michaels) play Lutterworth Athletic in the FA Vase. I was a choir-boy at the church 64 years ago (everyone say Aaah). Only £3 for pensioners - I might become a regular next season. You never know.

Connor Gater is an ex pupil of mine and played in my first school team. I believe he plays for Halesowen now?

I remember Cheltenham playing Fisher at Whaddon Rd many moons ago in some silly final. They played the National Anthem on a record player and then some Fisher fans decided to have a fight in the main stand!

Might be Cambridge City vs Stourbridge. Top of the table clash

That's where I will be on Saturday. Poor night for Stourbridge last night, a lot of huff and puff but no end product, fingers crossed for a return to form at the weekend.

Connor Gator has played full back this season for the Yeltz and arguably had his best game last night at Amblecote.

I used to go to Fisher and Dulwich on alternate Saturdays for the local paper. The days I didn't go, I had to rely on Fisher's first team coach and a few regular fans to give me an account of the game so I could write it up (it was like pulling teeth).

One week, when I'd been at the Hamlet,  the paper went out and I was flooded with calls asking why I hadn't written anything about `the fight' at Fisher's game. It turns out that Fisher's team captain, overhearing some disparaging remark or other, vaulted over the fence and kicked shit out of one of the opposing fans. The game was delayed for about fifteen minutes, by a 22-man brawl, the player was sent off and later banned for about a dozen games. It was a genuine front-page story. But no-one had mentioned it to me. I have never liked Fisher since.

I love some of the sponsors you get for some of the leagues.

I might sponsor one in my own name. That would be great.

Hi Guys,

Hope you dont mind me registering.

I was hoping to advertise the National Non League Football Day this sat when most of the top clubs are not playing.

Is this ok just to post the details of our club and the reduced ticket prices? we are running a promotion that if you have a season ticket or stub from any pro team its £4 in

We are just outside walsall not too far from sutton so quite a few villa fans in our area.

please let me know if this is ok - i have added your facebook to our fav pages

thanks
dan

Just had a look and me & son are going to Coalville Town Vs Willenhall. just looked and if you go in a replica shirt and show Season ticket then tickets 1/2 price http://www.coalvilletownfc.co.uk/

Fantastic idea, go to a few a year. Went to villa pre season against Boldmere and had a great night with some lovely people and talked football and old villa teams...
