Quote from: bbc reporter
1518: ASTON VILLA v EVERTON:
Chris Whyatt reports: "If Villa and Everton were grubby school kids, they'd be good pals. Both hang around the most popular gang in class - but are never quite in it - and each is worryingly below-par right now. David Moyes may be less concerned as his Everton are never bad for long, though defeat in this most-played top-flight fixture would mean their worst start for over a decade. Villa's caretaker boss Kevin McDonald is desperate for new boy Stephen Ireland to shine."

Easily good enough to win this game, on their day.

Talk about a lightweight midfield! We'll get slaughtered! Ireland is not being played in
the right position and Downing is a fanny. Stan's never really been a defensive mid either, and
his legs aren't what they used to be. Cahill, Rodwell and Fellaini will batter us senseless.

We're going to get spanked I'm afraid lads. Another incredibly naive selection from Kmac. I
really don't think he wants the job!

I feel we're definitely going to need to score first. If we can get to a situation where we can afford men behind the ball, then we might just control the game. However, if they score first then we're in trouble, because they'll paste us on the counter.

I hope we're all wrong as most of us seem to see the midfield getting mullered.

clearly not much learnt from the previous games then.  If Gab isn't fit I would have played Heskey ahead of Carew.  I'd play NRC and Ireland in the middle too.

this must be one of most pessimistic polls for a home game for a long time

I thought we'd lose BEFORE I saw that line up.  Now I think we will get battered. 4-0 at least I reckon.

I know we're all a bit down, but for crying out loud we're not shit. We've not played well I grant you, but I'm stunned at how many are waving the white flag already. We're playing Everton, not Barcelona. The same Everton that are yet to win a league game this season with their world beating line up. Are we in for a tough game? Off course we are. But you'd think from some of the posts that we are Blackpool up against Chelsea.

TV I hope you are right mate but I just cannot see it.  It's another awfully naive selection from KM and they will really fancy playing us today.
