My first game was a 2-1 win over Leicester in the 87/88 season which was our last time in the second tier.  Lillis and Evans scored I think.

That was my first game too, it was the week after the FA Cup game against Liverpool and I remember the Holte looked incredible on TV.

my fist game was on 1998-08-23,Aston Villa beat Middlesbrough 3 to 1, there were 13 minutes remain, A Thompson's free kick fly over the Midosburgh team's wall, into the net, completely destroyed the hope of equalizing the Meadowsboro team.

That FA Cup Tie at home to Liverpool in Jan 1988 was my first home game..Sat in the Trinity Road Upper..totally awe inspiring!

My first away game was the 3-2 win against Middlesbrough at Ayersome Park in September 1992 the week before that Dalian Atkinson goal at Wimbledon.

My first game was a 0-3 home defeat to Manure in 1979. My first away game was the 2-1 win at The Sty in the title winning season.

My first Villa game was the beginning of the 93-94 season, home to QPR, won 4-1. Wonderful introduction to Villa for a 10 year old.

My dad had taken me to Filbert Street numerous times before that in an attempt to get me to follow Leicester. But it didn't work, and I followed my Grandad 's beloved Villa instead.

I remember both those games well - contrasting emotions or what ?

I remember this (going to this) game well - I think it was my 3rd game and what I remember most was the excitement around the place about Tommy Docherty and my dad took me and my older brother in the old Witton Lane Stand for the first time - almost right on the half way line - it was my first full view of the old Trinity Road from the other side of the pitch and of course you couldn't help but think "WOW".

Sheffield United must have hated coming to VP in 1975 and of course they were a decent team then (did they finish 6th in 74-75 ?) on top of beating them 4-1 in the FA Cup, we then proceeded with the aforementioned 5-1 demolition about 10 months later.  For some reason that good team of 74-75 was bottom of the league throughout the next season - strange ?

I remember that game partly because of the snow, but also it was the first game I recall attending with my dad and my granddad. Grandad fell on the ice in the Trinity Rd queue, and it was my first 40k crowd.
