According to Villa Insider on Twitter the rumours around BH are that it will be Houllier. Probably another ITK I am being wrong footed by.

To be fair, Curbishley would keep us up.

I refuse to believe he'll be the man we appoint.

I'd sooner see a knitting pattern get the manager's job, and one of those bits of polystyrene packaging that's shaped like a Wotsit cheese puff come in as director of football, because those are the two most tedious things I can think of other than Alan fucking Curbishley.

Well, if Shagger Svennis has also gone for the job as reported, he'd easily get the job over the likes of Curbishley, whatever you think of him.
So I wouldn't start get my knickers in a twist yet and start calling for Randy to move on. I still think they'll make a good appointment. There'll be far better than the likes of Curbishley wanting this job.
If he has applied he deserves the respect of an interview at least. But no more.

Can you imagine the stampede of fans going to the North Stand car park when Curbs car pulls in ?

More likely some tumbleweed slowley drifting along,or an angry mob with lit torches.

I'm sure that Curbs is a nice bloke and he's been reasonably successful as a manager. However, this could well turn out to be the dullest, most predictable and uninspired appointment ever.

McLeish, Houiller or Moyes please. If none of those, Koeman or Sven. At least three of those are gettable, so I'm hoping we see one come in.

I bet Mark Hughes is looking at the names being linked daily and regretting more and more with every passing hour the timing of a) his appointment at Fulham, and b) MON's departure.

Said it before and I'll say it again, whatever way you look at it, MON f*cked us, f*cked us right up the arse, and he knew exactly what he was doing (for once).

He's duller than dishwater.

Curbishly, nice guy, no Manager - KMac or Curbs are both a complete and utter NO.

I imagine that their salary requirements are miles apart.  KM and Curbs would be dirt cheap. Sven and Houllier, not so much.

I have a West Ham friend who does not think appointing Curbishley would be too bad. Saved then from relegation and got to mid table before things went wrong. I filed him alongside, Allardyce, Bruce, Pulis etc., Good at smaller clubs but yet to show there worth at a big club.
