There we go, I want Ralf Rangnick. Sounds more exciting than most other names linked to the job.

I'm startled that eight (8.) people voted for O'Leary.

Is it the start of the comedy season?

Getting a bit fed up with the so called bookies favourites for the job being different from one bookie to another and constantly changing.

People are just guessing and getting worked up over it.

As a matter of interest, how much money is being placed across the board on our next manager.  How much would it take to get an 'also ran' to favourite with one of the bookies - sell a few newspapers, wouldn't it.

I'll throw my hat into the ring, everyone go out and start putting money on me now. With the way the bookies keep changing I'll be odds-on in no time at all.

What about Ron Atkinson on a temporary basis and see how it goes... I just don't like anyone on that list!

Think we could certainly do worse, he plays attractive football for a start!

If everyone on this board was to put £5 on Terry Nutkins, would that be enough to stop the betting?

Has this already been mentioned http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/41971/EXCLUSIVE_German_coach_emerges_as_shock_Villa_target.aspx

Would be great and an exciting new manager imo!

Fuck me, the rest of that "shortlist" makes me want to stick my head in the oven.

Cant be arsed to trawl this thread, but has anyone mentioned Roberto Martinez? I would put Moyes and Jol ahead of him, but perhaps a gamble on a good young manager, who plays decent attacking football and has fresh ideas may pay off?

An appointment of Klinsmann would definately create some excitement at VP.

If you count a relegation battle as excitement.  The guy was a disaster at Bayern - his only club management post to date - totally out of his depth.  And as California is a woo-woo mecca, I hear he's as batty as Glen Hoddle.

Mellberg. If anyone gives him some sauce he can hang 'em upside down by their ankles like he did Lungberg a few years ago.
