I've gone for Jol because he's got experience of club football here, european league experience and plays reasonable football. I'm not of the opinion Hiddink et al would even spare us a thought, so I think he's about the best option not to go down the pan.

I have a strong suspicion that we will go after Moyes. Whether he comes is a different matter but his name will be right up at the top of the list.

I'm staggered by the majority support for Jol. I do not recall a single post from amongst the MONphobes stating, "What we really need is O'Neill out and Jol in".

Now that I can post again... is the poll for who we want or who we think we'll get?

I would rather have Bob the Builder than Bob Bradley.

An appointment of Klinsmann would definately create some excitement at VP.

That's because wanting Jol to replace MON how he has gone is not the same as wanting MON to be sacked so Jol can be installed.

There was also the little matter that apparently we'd be a draw for better managers than that. Now I know the timing has made it difficult but to me Jol would be at the top end of who are likely to attract and I wonder if he'd be willing to swap Ajax for a period of trying to make ends meet in B6.

I seriously doubt Moyes would come.

Curbishley would condemn us to mid-table. I would rather take a risk with someone unproven than go with that.

Jol is the best manager on that list who is attainable.

I think he was willing to take the Fulham job but compensation was the initial problem; surely he would love to manage Villa?
