I'm sticking twenty quid on Leonardo, with Randy in Milan - young, polite intelligent, speaks the lingo - I think he would be a very interesting appointment.
He also knows a lot about european football.

Prefer Raphael myself, he's cool but crude.

Yeah, either of them ahead of the nasty Shredder.

Big name and he was responsible for taking Kaka and Pato to Milan. I wouldn't mind him bring the odd player like that to Villa Park!
Yeah, we're looking for a Head Scout.

It could be a transfer under discussion ? Is could be something for his art passion. Or he is looking for an Italian Momma to cook his food :) or need some new clothes to replace his black collar shirt.

It is very interesting that Randy is reported to be in Italy...I dont think it is unreasonable to be jumping to conclusions that it has something to do with our vacant managerial position.

Equally it appeared that he had his kids with him on Saturday so he could just be on holiday.

Why do I get the feeling Martin Jol has just turned us down, at least until next summer:

Quote

For what its worth,I heard the Guardian podcast today, and one of them said he spoke to a couple of big knobs at Villa about the Maradona story and they were cold to the idea, and also to the idea of Sven and Bradley, which is a bonus!

I voted for Jol. But I think Eriksson would be a good alternative. He is a proven club manager, has a lot of experience, is a good tactician (although a bit cautious) and has (presumably) international network. Ok, he didn't win the World Cup with England, but it's difficult to imagine someone who would.

I hope we don't gamble on Bradley or Klinsmann.

There's some horrible names on that list, and I hope to God that Lerner has been advised to keep well away from the likes of Bradley, McClaren, Sven and co. The more this drags on though the more I worry who he'll get.
Lerner's managerial choice will be the definition of his Villa ambition in my opinion. Any of the above and I'll know his plans for Villa aren't as big as I once thought they were. I hope he doesn't let us down.

Pellegrini, Bilic, Leonardo - these are managers who would make the place so joyful. Their philosophies and styles of play would really make displays like that on Saturday more frequent.

Like Paulie and I, among others, have been shouting for the last year: if we're going to finish 6th-8th, let's do it in style.

Can't recall who I voted for - there's been so much speculation and double guessing
what Randy will do and even where he's gone and what for etc,....

The Leonardo suggestion is quite attractive (and I don't mean his looks)

Apart from Premier experience he ticks the right boxes, and would be quite surreal
as I emailed my circle of Villa mates earlier in the week with his photo and that of
one of our crew that is a 'real ringer' for him

Here's another name to throw into the hat - and I believe is Milan based -
Clarence Seedorf ............no managerial experience but still a decent player unless
I am mistaken ..................yeh I know daft suggestion but it gets me near the 500 posts

I'd settle for any of those.  Does Pellegrini speak English though?

Apparently. I've not heard him myself, but apparently he did a couple of years ago when at Villareal and the Liverpool job was rumoured to become available.
