I think it's an ok strip although I'm not so keen on the checks on the socks. I'm a bit suprised at the strength of some of the negative reaction as they are all a sight better than some of the abominations we've had over the years.
I love the new kit, ça va sans dire, it goes without saying, apart from the awful claret socks (we are Aston Villa, we have sky blue socks).First of all, the design is peculiar, classy and unusual and the claret and blue checks recall the moquette of our changing room.Secondarily, the template is not the standard template of the other Nike kits , but it's conceived exclusively for us, the Aston Villa FC, so I dare to say this is the first outstanding Nike kit in years. . .
I haven't posted on here for a while but I felt i had to state my disappointment with the new kits purely because, according to someone on footballshirtculture.com, they appear to be a rehash of RC lens kits from 08/09 - see http://i40.servimg.com/u/f40/11/90/56/54/maillo11.jpg That to me is really lazy by nike and an affront to aston villa. Shame on them

I hate advertising on shirts, but the inclusion of the strap-line makes our new kit worse than most. Home shirt - Don't like the checks, but other than that, it's claret and blue in the right places. Away shirt - Here the checks work - has echoes of the Croatian away shirt. I like it (bar the advertising).
