SWMBO is going to ask someone close to the club as there is no information whatsoever on the net. Now, these players were all required to attend the France vs England RL match with the full squad on the 27th of June but didn't turn up. Foo Fighters were on at VP that day. Just saying.

Catalans Dragons lost to Cockerney Broncos, facking Broncos! SWMBO happened to be eating at the Dragons Brasserie at their ground today when her boss wandered in and the place went silent, knowing he would be fucking fuming after that. He gave an interview today "haven't been so ashamed of my team for 20 years etc."

ITK sources indicate that someone high up in the coaching team might be getting a P45 sooner rather than later. We shall see.

I'd be interested to understand how the northern English game of Rugby League came to be established in the south of France.

There's a fairly informative section about it on Wiki under "History".

I was a but surprised. Turned on with 10 minutes left and thought 'blimey, Broncos winning. They never beat anybody'.

They're the Norwich of Rugby League.

Catalans Dragons battered at home by Hull KR. (4-36). Fucking useless.

It was a "magic weekend", all games at Elland Road, so not technically a home game. Hull KR are top of the pile, would be great if they could win it all.

Oh right! That explains things. SWMBO couldn't understand why Bernard Guasch was in England whereas the game was announced as a home fixture.

I thought the point of Magic Weekend was that they took the game outside the rugby league strongholds. Leeds?

Think it's more that you can watch about 3 games and 6 different sides in one day, in a big stadium.

They need to have it more often, as Huddersfield always seem to win at Magic Weekend.

Yes, I think it's more about having a big stadium than anything else. It was at the Etihad for a few years, which is pretty well in the middle of Rugby League country.

Birmingham club Midlands Hurricanes make third tier playoffs for first time. I think they'd still need to win five games to go up, though. Not 100% sure, the system hurts my brain.

Catalans Dragons lost again, at home to Wigan and drop out of the top six play-off qualifying positions. Wank!

Didn't think the Midlands was especially known for hurricanes.
