I didn't think quite that good, but yes, I was immensely impressed. He looked top class. Sadly since then he's had maybe 20 games of looking at that level. Of course given he had a decent run a season and a half back for West Ham, he then became hot shit and very expensive because he's English.

well 19 days to get a new manager and a new squad together. Asking a bit much....1 or 2 would have been nice. As it stands it looks like we could be buying Ireland anyway who the new manager may not rate.

I think its common sense to wait for a manager to be appointed, if only because its money he'd want to spend on players of his choice and we've seen plenty of good players let go because they weren't the managers type of player. I agree thats hardly possible given the circumstances and the large milner shaped hole in our midfield if we don't sign Ireland. Thanks again, Martin....
