What is this party-trick nasher speaks of? Does he shoot ping pong balls from his arse or something?

I think it is a step over thing.

Although I'm not adverse to a bit of stepping over, once in a while.

Step over thing? STEP OVER THING!! Aiden McGready is the Scottish-based Cruyff, cut him he bleeds orange! Although that could be Irn-Bru....

With a name like his and playing for Celtic I very much doubt it.

If I could add one player to our squad it would be Donavon. It would allow us to play 4-3-3 with Donavon on the right, Petrov, Milner and Downing in the centre. There would be enough goals in the team and with luck on injuries/suspensions we could have a shot at 4th.

I don't recall ever watching McGeady live, so I'll take others' views who have seen him more.

He looks pretty bloody skilful on youtube though, even allowing for appalling Scots defending.

Is it possible MON could do for him what Mourinho did for Joe Cole? Or is he really not that good?

Worth remembering that Trapatoni doesn't pick Andy Reid for Ireland either, but he's been good for Sunderland.

Possibly worth a punt for around the £6m mark?

The problem with Mcgeady is the same as the problems england had with wright-phillips, lennon and walcott, basically, all fart no shit.

Every time I've seen him he regularly beats his man but then messes up the cross/pass/shot (given that's only probably 6-7 games, on TV, over the last couple of years).

As I said earlier though if you're making a signing from scotland to come in at the level we're at they really need to be regularly the best player on the pitch in scotland, if they're not then I'm not convinced they'll make it, or if they do it will be a long process to get them up to speed.

This, along with the cost makes McGeady a bad choice for us, if we were a bottom half/mid table side I'd probably give him a go though.

The problem with Mcgeady is that he's yet another winger. Haven't we got enough of them by now. I'm still hoping for big things from Albrighton: I was very disappointed at his lack of first team presence last season after looking shit hot during the peace cup.

Signing Mcgeqdy would bring our winger tally to 7, which includes Milner and Bannan.

This is ridiculous. I'm an advocate of using only one winger, as two leaves us fragile in the middle, unless we play just one striker, but mon doesn't like this.

Very good question about the right back situation. If Carlos starts the West Ham game at right back then... Arghhh

What? Slating him for not pulling his weight and tracking back, even though he terrorised the opposition defence and won the game for you?!

Calling him the Scottish guy with the party trick probably sums up a lot about Greg’s knowledge of the bloke.

Looking at the video of him, he looks skilful enough, but if he wanted somebody like that, he should have gone for Adam Johnson.

Well if Spurs pay £5 million for Bellamy, I want Villa to pay no more than that for Keane.

Keane doesn't have the injury problems Bellamy has and wouldn't need to have a special training schedule just for him.

If he wasn't such a risk, injury and personality wise and if this transfer hadn't been nailed on since May, then I'd have liked him at the Villa.
