..but typical of MON and his customary transfer window fuck around. he could have been signed weeks ago-surely its not that hard?! make an offer that gets refused, find out their value, make an offer thats half way between the two and settle for a couple of million less than they want. medical, personal terms, sign on fee, smile and hold a shirt----bosh, job done.

Remind me again who we bought last summer, when did we buy them and were they any good?

Yes that was last season and what a great start we had........outplayed by Wigan at home and out of Europe by the end of Sept

I would also argue that we had a lot more money to spend probably up to
3 times as much than the £10m we have this season so MON could afford to wait until the last minute

I'm surprsed that people are bored of the way we play, but want us to sign Crouch.

Crouch is very good on the ground and has a great first touch.

I wonder what % of his goals actually do come from headers.

Great touch for a big man

Mmmmm not really as that was 9 days after the Wigan game and the newbies may have had time to settle in, work on set pieces, team play, etc

Just read that the mcgeady deal is pretty much dead in the water after its been confirmed spartak moscow have lodged a 9.5m offer, effectively pricing us out of a move.
Im not convinced he's what we need anyway (striker, cm anyone?) but typical of MON and his customary transfer window fuck around. he could have been signed weeks ago-surely its not that hard?! make an offer that gets refused, find out their value, make an offer thats half way between the two and settle for a couple of million less than they want. medical, personal terms, sign on fee, smile and hold a shirt----bosh, job done.

If you're not convinced he's what we need, then why the long rant? Celtic put a price on him, MON obviously dose'nt feel he's worth it so has'nt taken it any futher.

because its not my place to decide who we buy. Its MON's judgement and I will support whoever he puts his faith in, up until the point i feel they no longer give a fuck or are not putting the interests of the club before their own. My problem is how limp his penis goes during the transfer window. if he wants mcgeady and feels he is what is required to take us further i trust his judgement. but grow a pair and get the deal done....

I couldn't give a flying fuck in a rolling doughnut about Edie Macreedie, or whatever the fuck the little shit's name is, but you're deluding yourself if you think it's that easy to complete transfers.

I don't think you can 'get a deal done' and still maintain a strict line on wage packets like the club is allegedly doing. By its very nature a quick transfer would involve just slapping a very attractive deal down and hang the expense. There's no way you can sign the players that you want, on the wages you want, in just one day.

i know, i know, maybe a slight exaggeration...but its not impossible to get the players you want before the last 48hours of the transfer window--which probably ultimately results in inflated prices, wages signing on fees etc...im sure other clubs and agents can smell the desperation sometimes. (heskey deal being the perfect example)

especially if its the last day of the transfer window, you end up paying people like heskey 60 grand a week because you've burnt all your other bridges.
I just dont agree with our ultimate hard ball stance we always adopt. there's being shrewd and there's fucking yourself over due to being stubborn and not playing ball a bit.

It's not like that at all, in fact it's the other way around. We have our targets, and we negotiate until the latest possible moment to get the best price we can. That's the position we're in.

Just having a quick shufti elsewhere and it's been noted 'an unnamed PL club' has put a bid in for McGeady.

Now, I'm in no way endorsing the transfer if it is us, or warming to the idea, but I'd like to know what your reactions would be if, hypothetically, McGeady had the game of his life against West Ham, scored a couple, made a couple and generally looked worth every penny?
