think he gave up on top4 last season. its the fizzy pop and the europatwobob now. Leicester Mk2

Are you now trying to become a parody of yourself?

You do know that we were in the battle for 4th up until our 2nd last game of the season, don't you?

only because we came back into it with our late season form. the reality was no-one on here thought 4th was more than a faint possibility which was different from the previous seasons

Yet in terms of points, and how late into the season we kept the chance alive, we were better than previous seasons?

As said above, finishing 5th or 6th should be considered the best we can do in the league this year, given the strength and financial muscle of the other teams competing. I don't think we have the players, the finance, the tactics or the manager to do any better at present.

Everything i have read and heard this monring is strongly linking Steven Ireland to a move to to Sunderland

Why are we not mentioned - every season is the same but i am really getting peed off again

That's just what the Spurs fan wants Harry to do.

its the old race analogy john. whats more impressive, actually being in 4th for periods of the race and finishing 6th or staying 6th all race.?

Would be a travesty if we are not interested in him and our midfield stops the same or gets worse from a creative point of view.

I'm a very passionate fan and crave success like we all do, but I don't wear rose tinted specs either- I do not see it as a realistic target and I don't think many fans expect us to break the top 4 either.

Unless there was huge influx of finance this summer then I don't see happening, and I'm
talking of £100m plus at least!

Does that mean he did'nt piss all over us when playing for Hull?

We were 4th at times last season.  Not that that has anything to do with you trying to convince us the manager has given up on 4th, when that's clearly not the case.

Big salty tears were his only deposit on us at Villa Park last season.

In fact, wasn't he also desperately poor at their place, too?

If we have a target of the season of 5th or 6th, I'll not bother. We haven't just been promoted, for God's sake! We are an established top-flight side and should be aiming to win the fucking thing. This Big4 shite really grinds my gears too...where is the glory in finishing 4th? We'd probably end up getting knocked out in the preliminaries anyway!

I hope no one voices the ambition of finishing 5th or 6th at pre-season training! If I was a professional athlete and heard that kind of talk before the start of the season, I'd fucking cry...

clampy, i suggested bullard as a stop gap , but if you were there when we played hull when bullard was fit you wouldnt keep asking the question.

check the match threads , he was the best player on the pitch by a mile and recieved such rave reviews from our fans , the reception he got when he was carried off last season i think in some way reflects our fans appreciation of how good he was against the season before .

Im actually looking forward to the season and enjoying it , as i previously felt frustrated and angry in past seasons when i thought we could have achieved 4th.

T|his season i dont think we can achieve it , so anything else will be a bonus, im hoping we can get back to wembley and win a cup this time though- i think that is more achievable.

my personal opinion is the money's dried up. I can't imagine Lerner letting him add to the massive losses unless he thinks he can achieve 4th, simply because that's the only way we'll break even. Hence MON's 'oooh its going to be a bit tricky' comments

We were 4th for parts of the 09/10 season as we were also 4th for parts of the 08/09 season.  Yes, we may have been there longer in 08/09, but I judge our final finishing position (6th both times) and our points difference to 4th (less in 09/10) as a greater measure.

You would aswell, if it didn't suit your argument to view it the other way round.
