The term 'baller' for a good player is relatively new. I am pretty sure for most of my life calling someone 'a baller' would have been taken as an insult.

Ref blows the whistle and everyone takes a knee. Apart from some dopey twat in Blue who kicked off.

Ah, sure God love 'em, they never fail to amuse.

I will stick up for them on this issue. Small Heath as a club have already been on their knees enough over the years  ;)

First time I heard it used was mid 90s in that Skee Lo song "I wish i was a little bit taller".

Genius uses the term in the chorus of this magic:

Genuinely stunned that anyone under the age of, say, 150 wouldn't be familiar with the word "baller".

We scored more goals in one half against the world champions then they have in 7 games.

I had two phone conversations with two different people last night about how their manager and tactics were 'pragmatic' to say the least.

It looks like there's some sort of bot on there that automatically links Brum Mail stories as new topics.  This one went down well:

"The difference - Tom Ross on what Aston Villa are getting right this season"

Have their fans acknowledged our continuing existence lately? I have popped over to Small Time Alliance a couple of times since the Leicester game but we seem to be dead to them these days.

I'm not so sure. Us staying up last season really seemed to break most of them. They say it's the hope that kills you - well they were convinced we were going down, hope never came in to it, and when we didn't, Small Time Alliance went in to complete suicide watch.

4 wins on the spin this season seems to have broken the spirit of the remaining few...

More likely because Longbridge have cut the WiFi off when they're doing their 22 hour shifts.

From being certain we were going bust 2 years ago which never materialised to certain we were going down last season which never materialised and to now see us potentially topping the top league for most of this coming weekend is potentially suicide watch for most of them. Should we achieve that by means of something they are convinced is spawny it will be all of them.

How many messages into their thread on us tonight will we be spawny for Philips being injured, no fans again or the earth being flat?

Whenever there’s a Villa thread over there some sensible person chimes in with a statement that can sometimes start ‘state of this thread’ followed by defying their twisted logic that everything we do or that happens to us is spawny.  Like a pack of wolves they will attack that person with counter logic such as ‘fuck them I’m done with them.’
