The Baggies are the same - they think The Lord is My Shepherd was invented in the Malt Shovel on the Walsall Road.

That's not right at all.

The Malt Shovel's on Newton Road.

One of their lot had this to say about Dean Smith...

“Is it any surprise given what their odious toad of a manager encourages from his players?

He's a cheat, always has been and always will be. He's perfect for them. A disgusting cretin of a man.”

A “disgusting cretin of a man”?? Just where do these people get their hatred from?

He's a down to earth Brummie who's clearly enjoying himself at the club he loves. Jacks's the same, and that's what really hurts them, because for all their down to earth Brummieness they still have to import their ringmaster and his menagerie from around the world while we've got the real thing. They hate them because they should be theirs.

Pure unadulterated jealousy then.

It killed them when we went up with a Villa fan as manager and a Villa fan as captain. It was the perfect storm.
The closest they got to something like that was narrowly avoiding relegation with Craig Gardner as player coach last season.

Considering all Brummies support 'da bloose' they've had local lads and fans like Martin O'Connor, Paul Tait and Robert Hopkins bringing endless glory to their club, our equivalent are the likes of Shaw, Taylor, Gabby, Jack and DS. They should compare medals and derby wins.

Fuck knows why they are jealous.

Small time skint pricks.

Is Lee Hendrie a Villa fan as well?

Another couple of free transfers from Spain for Small Heath ,They really must be in a state having sold Adams for 15 million and Bellingham for 30 million the last two close seasons and still can not afford to buy anyone .Their thick fans don't seem to have noticed and are getting all excited as usual

I still think the jury is out on that one.

He does a good job of hiding it if he isn't!

He didn't ever profess support for any particular team when I knew him at 15-16. I remember him wearing the Liverpool away shirt in PE but that was it. He absolutely was not one of 'them', his old man played for them for a bit that's all.

Darius Vassell anyway, to add to the earlier list of high-calibre, Villa supporting local lads that we've produced.

Mark Walters was another that'd sneak in the Holte for the end of the game once they'd unlocked the gates, I believe.

I am surprised they are religious enough to sing a hymn. Surely if there was a God he wouldn't have made it snow so much it stopped them from winning the title in 1979.

I never knew they had any association with the that hymn until I saw it printed on one of the seat covers last weekend....must have passed me by that one.  Is is a walk on tune they use?

S’pose it’s better that ‘boing boing....going down’

They've been singing it for years. Nobody knows why, or cares.

That sounds about right. Think Lee is probably a fan from playing with us but his gran is a ST holder at The Sty and he's let his son become a Wolves fan so not Villa through and through like many of us.
