Would have much preferred the Rays winning it. Shame to see the Dodgers not choke for once

Sounds like Cleveland are finally going to change their name, I can't believe I beat UKRS to the thread!

Are the Kansas City Klansmen planning to change their name?

'Spiders' would be good, but that one disastrous season when there's owners tanked it, probably carries too much baggage.

'Buckeyes' would be great as a tribute to the Negro League team, but that name is now associated with Ohio State.

Kansas City and Atlanta should follow suit, but their names, whilst cultural appropriation aren't derogatory.

Mets have sacked general manager Jared Porter for sending unsolicited explicit text to a female reporter. #MetOoh

The media kept the reporter's nationality out of the reports to protect her identity.
Apparently the Mets then publicly said where she's from  >:(

Its possible that the 2021 Hall of Fame ballot announcement next week will see no inductees.

The leading holdover candidates are Schilling (insurrection supporting arsehole) and Bonds/Clemens (PED)

No one on the list of first time eligibles stands out.

It'll be interesting to see what happens

Even googling doesn't reveal her name so it'd been fairly well hidden thankfully. Just out of interest was she Latina?

It was said that if people in her country knew that she was the victim, it would be her who was blamed.

So, whatever countries fit that bill

I just finished watching the World Series. It's nigh on 35 years since I was steeped in the sport, so it was encouraging that I found I could slip into the whole geek mode that Baseball wallows in (pace Sabremetrics). I loved it.

Provoked by this I went after memories, and was disappointed to find that old stadiums were not there any more (Candlestick, Shea et al.) but impressed by the fact that I could name a decent proportion of the mid-80s Mets team :)

P.S. One notable change for me was the fact that there seemed to be very few broken  bats compared to the "old" days.
