Bringing in Vasquez was a surprise to me. He wasn't really any good the last time he played in da Bronx.
It appears that the Sox have started to get their act together at last but I don't know how much longer they can keep faith in Big Papi.
With JD struggling as well, they're lacking thump in the lineup. Someone like Adrian Gonzalez is needed desperately but the Padres' good start means that there's no way they'll trade him at the moment.
Ernie was so good on the radio that the Brooklyn Dodgers actually traded a player to Atlanta to obtain his services.
From the golden age of baseball on the radio (the era of Mel Allen, Red Barber, Harry Carey, Curt Gowdy et al), only Vin Scully of the LA (formerly Brooklyn) Dodgers now remains.
One of the good things about being here in Oz is that when they show the MLB over here it's at a reasonable hour (lunchtime) so I'm starting to get back into it again.
Watched the Rays/Mariners game yesterday - Seattle not doing too well at the moment it seems!

With all the changes they made during the off-season, the Mariners were a popular pick to win the AL West. However, despite their excellent pitching (on paper at least), their chances are hurt by a batting lineup that lacks thump.
