Thought that might confuse you. Thats 2 corner backs (guys that stand a bit further back tackling guys who catch it or runners who get through, or try to intercept it), an offensive tackle and defensive tackle (big fuckers), a running back (give the ball to him, watch him (attempt to) go), a line backer(a quicker big fucker), a tight end(big fucker who can catch) and 2 wide recievers (quick guys who can catch)
Clear?

eagles made a draft day deal with the patriots for Ellis Hobbs.  This is good because he will fit into the nickel corner slot or just play cornerback and some depth as the 3rd CB.  They just had to give up 2 5th round picks.

So, so far we got a WR, RB, TE, CB, OT, another WR, and an OLB.  Plus Hobbs at the CB position.

With the 2 new WR's, and last years amazing rookie WR Deshaun Jackson, hopefully we get at least one of these two guys to make their way into the 2 or 3 slot in the next two years.

Is George Best the old Ryan Giggs? But Giggsy-wiggsy. Precocious talent, isn't he? Mmm?

Ooh, got it all, you know? Speed, acceleration, sweet left foot, all the tricks - the dummy, the drop of the shoulder, the shimmy, nutmeg, jiggery-pokery, hocus pocus, abracadabra, I wanna reach out and grab ya. Steve Miller Band? Spin Doctors? Ooh, very similar.

Pretty pleased with Da Bears picks. Jarron Gilbert sounds shit hot and we have got two wide receievers - one of them's bound to be good!

I think Dave wants to get into the NFL really so we should give him all the help we can!

CB = Corner Back. A defensive guy who's not close to the line of scrimmage but is in charge of stopping long throws from finding their intended receiver.

RB = Running back. The bloke you give the ball to in the hope he will steam-roller the defence (defense!) when you don't fancy throwing the ball around.

TE = Tight End. A slightly homo-erotic term for the guy who is supposed to block the opposition defensive players but also act as a talented receiver to catch balls and score touchdowns. A difficult position to play in.

WR = Wide receiever. Easy job. Just catch the Quarter-Backs throws and turn them into touchdowns. Job done.

I dont really think its an easy job I was simplifying slightly for budding NFL fan Mr Cooper! Wide receiver is a difficult enough position unfortunately our own Mr Hester has proved that lately!

Dave, what you really want to keep in mind is this.

You are going to hear about Wide Recievers, Quarterbacks, and Runningbacks more than anything.

It is the "sexy" position.  You get all the credit when your team does well, and when your team picks one of these guys, it is a big deal.

The harder to gauge players are the Offensive and Defnesive line.  These guys are essential if you want the QB, the RB, and the WR to be able to do their job.  They rarely get the credit they deserve, but having even a small lack in one of these positions is going to be brutal.

You don't really need to know all of the positions if you want to watch.

Just remember the QB, RB, and WR.

You know that there is an offensive line, and they line up and play against the defensive line.

Man, I can't wait for the NFL season to start!!!

It's funny, because on this board we love how great Randy has been for Villa, but in Clevo, they hate him for how horrible he has been for the Browns.
