He restored our name and reputation.

To a certain level yep; However when Vineghar Ande Chips playing on the continent hears that Villa are interested in signing them, who they're gonna be more impressed with;  Villa's name under DS or U Emery?

Nice racism there.

Found this online from Nov 2021:

Before taking up the role at the Mestalla Stadium last summer, Emery spoke to Sid Lowe at The Guardian and confirmed his interest in returning back to England, if a ‘good project’ became available:

"If there’s a good project in England, if someone wants me and is prepared to get behind me, I’m available…

"In England that identification with your team brings the game alive. It’s deeper there, like a church.

"I was born in San Sebastián and my team is Real Sociedad. That feeling is in my heart and that’s what you find in England.

"It’s marvellous, the loveliest thing there is.”

"Fans want their emotions to come to the surface and the only to way to make that happen is to give them a team that transmits emotion: intensity, attacking, scoring goals, competing, fighting. That awakens them. The fans want emotions.”

Love him already!
Me too!
Brilliant.
Disgusted however at  his interviewer,Sid Lowe's tweet tonight,.'.his going to Villa is really disappointing,on many levels' What a complete arsehole.

As mentioned above, thoroughly recommend a look at Molineux Mix tonight, it's very funny. In full meltdown.

And also, some deluded twats on there. Check this one out.

Ok in all seriousness; our players are (usually) way better than those of Villareal or Villa. We have consistently finished higher than Villa for years apart from Covid season.

Why the **** are those clubs getting Emery, linked with Gallardo, and we are consigning ourselves to Steve ******* Davis for 3 months??!.

They're not happy are they. Wait until they discover not only did we get a top manager sorted in a few days, we also dropped Amorim.
What do you mean "dropped" ?

We were in talks with him and decided to pull out. It was our call.

Anyone got his final league positions when he managed Valencia/Sevilla/Villareal? They aren't on his Wiki.

Has it? Genuinely interested, I hadn't seen it anywhere and just assumed he'd said no and Emery was second choice.

Fair play to the owners on this, they've nailed it

They just don’t get it do they?  It was like when the Blues and Albion fans were moaning when our two current owners took over and questioning why we can attract owners like that.

As for “We have consistently finished higher than Villa for years apart from Covid season”, they have finished above us in, what four seasons over how many years?

Ta. Relative to budget that seems to be roughly on par but with regular Europa League trophies thrown into the mix, consistently successful. Not exactly the crap league manager that is being hinted at.

Is it correct to say he has only come up against Villa once, when we threw away the points at the Emirates early into our first season back in the Prem?

Sevilla, Villareal and now the hattrick!  Welcome to the best Villa in the world Unai!

He has also managed David Villa.
