Looking at Phil's injury record I notice he missed 33 games in 20/21 with a meniscus injury.
I wonder if he's playing within himself as a result.

Apparently Gerrard and medical staff really worried about Diego Carlos’s injury and he needs a scan.

Next game I’d drop Watkins, McGinn and Phil.
Bring in Archer, Sanson and Buendia.
You'd drop the guy with two assists today?
I wouldn’t give him a whole game if Buendia starts. I would rotate rotate Archer/Ings/Watkins.

Didn't see the game but a very welcome three points after the circus last week. Two nice assists by Watkins.

Just about deserved it against a poor Everton team.  Looked better when Buendia came on

Pleased with the 3 points! Mings back to his commanding best. Led that back line very well until last 5 when all sorts of sh*t was going off. Gave Cash and Digne b*ll*ckings when needed. He received a great reception off The Holte End.
Coutinho looked injured in the 1st half. Watkins ran his socks off and was knackered towards the end in high temps.
Midfield too static for me, but improved greatly when Buendia came on.
Stupid booking again from Young. Bench should have taken Cash off sooner,  when McGinn went over to them towards the end. They appeared in panic mode when calm heads were needed.
Everton are poor. We made it look harder than it needed to be.
Well done the Villa players!

They were sharper after Dele Alli came on but didn’t deserve that goal, made for a very nervy last 10.

How Steven can leave Emi out now is beyond me.

I have a feeling he won't, judging by his post-match comments.
Worrying reports on Diego carlos though.

I'd completely forgotten Dele Alli existed.

Kamara looks a fantastic signing.

We carried so much more threat once Buendia came on, he produced some lovely touches.

A very welcome win, but we are we so shaky/nervy/indecisive when the ball is pinging in and around our box ?
